The official media for the anime adaptation of the light novel “Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei” (The Irregular at Magic High School) have released new updates about the long-awaited third season of the series. To the good fortune of the franchise’s loyal fans, it was confirmed that the new installment of the anime will begin airing on television in Japan on April 5 of this year.
Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei Season 3 will be released on April 5 this year.
But that’s not all, since it was announced that the TV anime “Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei” will be broadcast on Tokyo MX, Tochigi TV, Gunma TV, BS11, TV Aichi, MBS and AT-X channels, the official website of the series confirmed that a special event will be held on March 31 where an advanced screening of this long-awaited new installment of the anime will take place.
In addition, it was previously specified that the famous artist LiSA, known for performing the opening theme of anime such as Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Sword Art Online, among others, will return to the series to perform the opening theme of the third season of Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei, which will be titled “Shouted Serenade“.
It is worth remembering that the television anime Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei (The Irregular at Magic High School) announced the production of its sequel on December 31, 2021, the same day on which the special episode Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei: Tsuioku-hen (The Irregular at Magic High School: Reminiscence Arc) was aired.
Additionally, this new installment of Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei will cover the original light novel arcs “Double Seven Arc“, “Steeplechase Arc” and “Ancient City Insurrection Arc“.
The production team involved in the production of the new season of the series is as follows: Jimmy Stone is in charge of directing. Animation studio 8-Bit will return to handle production. Taku Iwasaki is in charge of composing the soundtrack.

“Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei” plunges us into a world where magic has ceased to be mere folklore and has become a meticulously taught science and technology. Despite being prodigious in magic, Miyuki is placed in the First Grade, while Tatsuya, despite his exceptional skills in physical combat, advanced technical knowledge and unique magical techniques, is relegated to the Second Grade due to his low score in the theoretical exams.
As the Shiba brothers face the challenges of school, the narrative delves into the complexities of a hierarchical and discriminatory system, exploring Tatsuya’s struggle against the stigma of being considered a magical “weed.” With political intrigue, student rivalries and hidden secrets, “Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei” offers a unique experience by combining elements of science fiction, magic and drama, highlighting Tatsuya’s ability to defy expectations and prove his worth in a seemingly rigorous magical world.
