It is no secret that YOASOBI, the popular Japanese band, is a rising star in the world of music, even more so in the anime music scene, because with each hit that comes to light, their popularity becomes bigger and bigger, proof of this is their most recent hit “Idol“, opening of the anime Oshi no Ko, which has been breaking records since its release.
Now, as a result of the worldwide success of “Idol“, the hype for the band has also increased in other countries, being the United States one of the key points of their popularity, and where on August 6 of this year they made their first presentation abroad, to be exact at the festival “Head in the clouds LA Music & Arts Festival” organized by the American music label 88rising and held at the legendary Rose Bowl in Los Angeles, California, United States.
YOASOBI showcase in the U.S. causes divided opinions
Being their first time on American land, the group formed by composer Ayase, vocalist Ikura and a group of people, gave the best of themselves to please the thousands of fans that accompanied them chanting their greatest hits during the presentation. At the end of the concert, it was time for the fans to share their experience of seeing the YOASOBI guys on stage, which caused a division among the fandom.
Because some considered the presentation a bit subtle or maybe because it was his first time presenting outside of Japan, the fandom’s opinion on the matter has been a lot of talk recently.
Some fan comments about the event
- “What is this…?”
- “The song composition, dance and camera overlap exquisitely and look cheap.”
- “When I saw it on WOWOW, I thought it wasn’t that bad.”
- “Wow, too crowded”
- “The First Take is pitch perfect, but it’s a shame it’s live.”
- “Cooler than I imagined”
As we could appreciate, there are all kinds of comments that show a clear contrast about the group’s presentation in Los Angeles. But let’s not forget that the YOASOBI guys don’t have much time on the music scene, it hasn’t been long since they released their first single, exactly in 2019, so they still have a long way to go, and the huge success of “Idol” is a sign of their impeccable work and the path they are currently going on.
