This coming January 26 is the official launch of Tekken 8, the latest title in one of the most beloved fighting game sagas by the gamer community. We’ve already had the chance to play it, and we’re excited to share our opinions with you.
Tekken 8‘s story mode is mind-blowing
This eighth installment of Tekken takes place just six months after the final battle seen in the previous game of the franchise and stands out from the first moment for its unbridled and senseless action, presenting scenarios and cinematics as mind-blowing as only this saga knows how to surprise us.
As expected in fighting games, Tekken 8‘s story mode is not very long, but it is so well structured that its few hours feel much longer, providing an intense and memorable gameplay experience.
It also leaves the player with a great ending that opens doors to what could be the next big title in the franchise. While we would like to go into more detail, revealing any aspect could ruin the very satisfying gameplay experience offered by this new release.
Importantly, we will also have individual story modes for each of the characters, where we will have to choose a specific fighter and take on a series of enemies in a tournament. These individual modes add an additional layer of depth and replayability to the game, allowing players to explore the stories and motivations of each character in Tekken’s rich narrative.
A highly polished technical section
The technical leap in this new installment of Tekken is remarkably evident, presenting a level of detail in the characters simply incredible, accompanied by completely crazy and creative scenarios.
The quality of the modeling and details, such as skin textures, make the game look phenomenal, demonstrating that the team behind this title has done an exceptional job. The fluid animations and stunning visual effects contribute to an even more immersive and dynamic gaming experience.
But that’s not all, the balance of playable characters is very well achieved, offering a clean and balanced gameplay experience, which is essentially important in a fighting game. This perfectionism ensures that each character is viable and that matches are fair and competitive, which is crucial to maintain interest and excitement in the confrontations.
With these improvements, Tekken 8 promises to offer hours of entertainment for both long-time fans of the series and new players entering the world of these exciting fights.
A highly enriching cultural environment
The events that unfold in Tekken 8 have a global impact, affecting every country in the world. This is reflected in the remarkably varied and culturally enriching cast of fighters, where each character speaks in their corresponding language, offering a unique and authentic experience.
This linguistic diversity not only adds an element of realism to the game, but also celebrates the rich cultural variety of the characters and continues what has been seen in previous installments of the series. By listening to the fighters express themselves in their native languages, players can feel more connected to them and their respective cultures.
An excellent experience to spend time with friends
The 1 vs 1 component in Tekken 8 is outstanding, making it a perfect choice to enjoy with friends. The thrill of going head-to-head in fast-paced, competitive matches offers hours of entertainment and challenge.
The game mechanics are designed to be accessible to players of all levels, meaning that even those new to the series can join in and enjoy the action. Although we also have an Arcade mode, which we will not delve too much because we find a very bad experience that does not go according to what is experienced in all other modes of Tekken 8.
Personally we highly recommend playing Tekken 8 if you are a fan of fighting games and the franchise in general, despite the drawbacks of its Arcade mode, the story and the other online components are extremely attractive.
