Stellar Blade

We already played Stellar Blade and it’s better than Bayonetta and Nier: Automata

We have had the opportunity to review in advance Stellar Blade, the new great Playstation exclusive, which takes note of the best exponents of the hack and slash genre to offer a title full of emotion and with an outstanding technical aspect.

It should be noted that this title is developed by SHIFT UP Corporation, creators of the popular game Goddess of Victory: Nikke, who with this refreshing proposal demonstrate the great talent that South Korea has to develop and publish avant-garde titles that are on par with what has been seen in such iconic franchises as Bayonetta and Nier: Automata.

What is Stellar Blade about?

Stellar Blade

In the near future, humanity faces its greatest challenge when it is driven from Earth after a catastrophic defeat by a mysterious invading force known as the NA:tives. In a desperate effort to reclaim their home, the survivors establish a colony in space from where they launch a mission of reconquest. The protagonist of this story is Eve, a brave android and sole survivor of her squadron, who is deployed to the desolate planet to face a hostile environment filled with unknown dangers.

Armed with advanced technology and accompanied by a group of new comrades, each with unique abilities and personal motivations, Eve must navigate through the ruins of once-vibrant cities, now transformed into NA:tive-infested battlefields. As the story progresses, Eve uncovers dark secrets about the invaders and the true nature of the war. This epic tale is not only a struggle for survival, but also a journey of self-discovery and redemption.

Stellar Blade offers a very fluid and dynamic gameplay

Stellar Blade

Stellar Blade is one of the most immersive games we have tried in recent years, thanks to the wide range of options offered to respond to an enemy attack. In the first instance, the game offers us a skill tree that we will unlock as we face enemies, which unlike other recent games really changes the gameplay drastically, especially when it comes to defend against an attack that seems almost impossible.

When dodging or defending against an attack we will have all kinds of options to avoid damage and counterattack with a special attack, motivating the game to encourage the player to be attentive at all times to try to get out of a battle unscathed.

However, not everything is about pressing buttons like crazy, and Stellar Blade forces the player to learn the commands to respond to all kinds of attacks in combat, conveying a feeling of difficulty that does not make us feel as if defeating an enemy is limited to simply pressing X like crazy. In addition to the fact that we will have to learn the commands, it is very easy to obtain large amounts of damage, inspired by the Korean title of the soul genre to give the exact doses of action and perfect strategy.

Amazing graphics and soundtrack

Stellar Blade

It is simply impossible to believe that this is the first console game released by a studio that until recently was limited exclusively to mobile experiences, SHIFT UP Corporation gives lessons on how with motivation it is possible to achieve titles on par with other prestigious studios and even surpass them.

The game looks simply impeccable and gives us a choice between prioritizing performance, resolution or a balanced mode. However, we highly recommend prioritizing performance to be able to enjoy the visually stunning battles at all times.

On the other hand, the soundtrack has amazed us from start to finish. Each of the compositions selected to represent the events and actions that we take throughout our adventure were chosen to perfection to finish immersively transport us to the universe of Stellar Blade.
