VTuber Legend: How I Went Viral After Forgetting to Turn Off My Stream (VTuber Nanda ga Haishin Kiri Wasuretara Densetsu ni Natteta) is once again causing debate on social networks with its latest anime chapter, since, according to internet users, the image of Awayuki Kokorone, the protagonist of this story has been corrupted with “H” arts, which generated conversation among fans of this series about whether a character having this type of arts made was a good thing or not.
Awayuki Kokorone, the main character of VTuber Legend has been demoted in the anime according to internet users.
Recently, episode 5 of VTuber Legend was released, in which we have a scene where Awayuki Kokorone is showing an “h” illustration of herself, which curiously is censored with an image of herself as well. Mashiro Irodor tells Awayuki that this image is too “ecchi” that if she had presented it to the public, she would probably have been “funked” because it is too strong.
On the Twitter/X platform, the user @CeoofRomcom shared just the clip of this scene and as a description for this publication added “What will it feel like to be an artist and create a character that is then desecrated in every possible way on social networks?”, this sparked some debate in the comments where the followers of this account shared their point of view about this.
One of the most popular comments within the VTuber Legend fandom was “I think at that point you already know you made it as an artist when they already made rule 34 to your character” “I would feel proud it would mean that something you create became popular enough to have rule 34”, so as you can see, many people think that a character having this kind of art, is really something positive for the franchise, as it reflects the popularity of the story and the characters that compose it.
Someone commented that the fanarts are real and are not something that was invented only within the world of VTuber Legend, since they are available on the website of the franchise for those curious people who want to look for them, as some people said that they would like to see the image shown in the episode in detail. Another person made a funny comparison saying that other artists, such as Blue Archive, are already used to this kind of situations and even make jokes about it.
There was another type of comments that were not completely related to this event in VTuber Legend, one person said “I really like how they show the world of the Vtubers, their lives and how people treat them”, and this is something that happens many times in the anime world, they show you how is the reality of certain entertainment industries, sports, among others. It is precisely one of the reasons why anime has so many fans around the world, because of the realism that is often found within their stories.
For the most part, the fans of the VTubers‘ world didn’t think this was a bad thing, but rather said that it was something common within this fandom. And as mentioned above, if this type of situation does not occur, on the contrary, it would be strange or it would mean that the story does not have so much popularity and that is why it has not achieved that this type of art of the characters of the series are made. What do you think of this situation that just lived the fandom of VTuber Legend? Do you also think it is a very common situation within the followers of the VTubers?
