These awards gave a lot to talk about for their nominees and winners in different categories.
Vinland Saga fan shows discontent after watching Crunchyroll’s Anime Awards
It was through his X/Twitter account that a user was encouraged to raise his voice and express his thoughts on the last awards ceremony held by Crunchyroll. This user expresses his clear support to Vinland Saga anime and how he feels after knowing the clear winners of this edition of the Anime Awards. In a post, the user named JuanJo_ns comments that like many of us, that night, he joined the streaming of the awards.
At the end of the broadcast and seeing that all the winners had already been announced, he noticed that his favorite anime Vinland Saga had not won an award, this generated a feeling of total disappointment. He knows that opinions are always going to be divided, that you can’t please everyone and sometimes you don’t win who you want, but JuanJo_ns feels that the anime that didn’t even have a chance won.
For this loyal follower of the Anime Awards, Viland Saga will always be his winner. In his post he does not specify in which category he wanted Vinland Saga to win, but we know that it was nominated for anime of the year, best drama anime, best main character and best ongoing series, just to mention a few. Losing in those categories, and in some against Jujutsu Kaisen, franchise that as expected, took a very good amount of awards that night.
Finally, the X/Twitter user ends his post saying that Vinland Saga or as he calls it “Vinland God Saga” will be the king of 2023 and that we don’t deserve an anime as good as this one is. Reaffirming his disappointment, not agreeing with the winners obtained in this edition of the Anime Awards and mentioning that Vinland Saga is such a good anime that we don’t deserve it.
Awarding the best anime of the year is not an easy task, since there are an infinite number of titles presented during the year that are very good. The Anime Awards are the awards where the best of anime in different aspects are recognized, these awards were held on March 2, 2024, broadcast on YouTube and Twitch. Undoubtedly, they had a great audience, where thousands of fans were waiting to see their favorite anime win a category.
