Tis Time for “Torture”, Princess (Hime-sama “Gōmon” no Jikan desu) made fans very excited when the adaptation of her work was announced, its premiere is scheduled for the winter-2024 season (January-March). At the moment we have a brief video where we can see the quality of the animation, as well as the members of the voice cast, but something that caught the attention of the audience is that unlike the manga Tis Time for “Torture”, Princess has a considerable censorship that differentiates it from the source material.

In the sequence that shows us Tis Time for “Torture”, Princess, in the first image we can see the character of Princess, in the manga she shows her arms outstretched and her body completely uncovered. Although the manga does not focus precisely on highlighting her feminine attributes, in a way it is a little explicit in showing the character with the lack of clothing.
The scene we are shown in the anime of Tis Time for “Torture”, Princess does not change much from the original. In it the body of our character is covered with a loose robe, as you can see the essence is the same and most likely they decided to resort to censorship to achieve a lower rating in the work and thus get it to be seen by a greater number of people.
The scene that follows in the image of Tis Time for “Torture”, Princess is very interesting. This time it was decided not to give much weight to the chains that our character wears, taking this decision softens the sequence, makes it less raw and shocking, although we already said that the scenes shown still maintain the essence of the original work, many fans expect the greatest possible fidelity.
The changes that were made the most was the addition of clothes to the character of Tis Time for “Torture”, Princess, which we can appreciate now, since the first chapter was recently released on the Crunchyroll platform. For now we must wait to have more episodes and to see what other differences are found between the anime and the manga of Tis Time for “Torture”, Princess, let’s hope that censorship does not affect the plot and allow us to enjoy this fun story.
Censorship is not something that bothers fans a lot depending on how it is used, it is expected to be as accurate as possible or sometimes improve the material on which the story is based. We still have practically a whole season ahead of us, it seems that the decision taken was quite sensible, achieving a wider audience.
So far the reception of the first episode of Tis Time for “Torture”, Princess has been good, describing it as a comic story that is good for a good time. Its plot is interesting and everything looks like it will be a work that will leave its small contribution in this anime season, let’s hope that the adaptation will cheer up the manga fans and that it will gain new fans with its anime, because as we already mentioned, its plot is quite curious and its characters are charismatic.
