With the recent completion of the spring 2024 season, fans of “Demon Slayer” (Kimetsu no Yaiba) were finally able to have Tanjiro and company back with the pillar training arc, a very short arc with some original material that served to enrich a little more what was being presented to us. Even more importantly, this season was the prelude to the beginning of one of the most anticipated story arcs for anime fans in the whole decade, we are talking about the “Infinity Castle” of which we had a small glimpse of how impressive it would be in the final episode of this season.
As usual, once the series was over, some media gave their reviews and opinions about what they thought of the season “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Hashira Training Arc“. Among these opinions, there is a review belonging to the review portal “IGN“, which caught the attention of the public for a rating that did not leave fans of “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” at all happy and who quickly became present in various social networks to demonstrate their dissatisfaction with the media.
This was the controversial Demon Slayer review that angered fans on networks!
A few days after the end of the fourth season of “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba)” the media “IGN” made public its review which it described as “Horrible” and described as follows: “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Hashira Training Arc is spectacle at its lowest point. This is an exercise in excess and self-indulgence, in squeezing every drop of content out of the premise to pad the runtime before the grand finale. The opportunity to learn more about the characters (or to see them change or grow) is squandered in favor of sillier jokes and extended sequences of characters walking around.”
All this to subsequently give this new installment a “3” rating. As we have mentioned before, this review had a huge repercussion in social networks where fans did not take long to show their discontent through posts in the form of satire, comments and memes, their dissatisfaction towards the media for such a low rating.
Posts in which they attacked the media mentioning that their “credibility was null” among fans of both anime and video games. This, according to them, due to controversies that they catalogued as “absurd” and where the example most remembered by some fans was that of “Stellar Blade“.
In which the media also gave it a very low rating, based on issues such as the aesthetics of the character and ignored, issues that, as some expressed, were more relevant or important, which included the game mechanics, its plot and if it was entertaining.
Evidently, not everything was criticism or merciless mockery towards “IGN” since some emphasized that they were partially right, since from the beginning it was known that this arc would be very short and would have “filler” but to implement things like “developing characters” was unfeasible because it would modify the original work, its development and structure.
In this way, they also pointed out that it was excessive to give it a 3 rating, because it was not at all a “bad” season because it fulfilled what it was, a small “training” arc where the characters were seen doing just that, training.
As we have seen, this is a new controversy that aroused much discomfort among fans because they considered that a very important series such as “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” was treated unfairly. So let us know your opinion about this “controversial” review and if you agree with the rating given by “IGN” or if on the contrary you are on the side of those who mention that it was something “excessive”.
“Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” takes us into a universe shrouded in rumors of terrifying demons that have been haunting humans in the forests for generations. These dark creatures have struck deep fear into the hearts of villagers, who rarely venture out of their homes once the sun goes down. However, according to legend, a demon hunter always lurks in the shadows, pursuing these bloodthirsty creatures and providing a small spark of hope.
For a young boy named Tanjiro, this legend becomes a cruel reality. After the tragic death of his father, Tanjiro becomes the sole breadwinner of his family. Despite the darkness that shrouds their lives, they find moments of fleeting happiness. However, this brief respite vanishes one day when Tanjiro discovers his family massacred. And most heartbreaking of all, his beloved sister, Nezuko, has been turned into a demon.
In the midst of this despair, a surprise emerges: Nezuko still shows signs of human emotions and thoughts. This tiny spark of humanity within her ignites hope in Tanjiro, who embarks on a mission to fight the demons and restore his sister’s humanity.
