No matter how old you are, surely you know iconic anime such as Sailor Moon, Sakura Cardcaptor and Inuyasha, very famous series in the 90’s and precisely all of them had a very particular drawing style of these times, that’s why it is quite easy to recognize them. Over time, animation styles have been changing and improving, but can you imagine your favorite anime waifus drawn in the style of yesteryear? A user on Instagram made it come true and in this article we share the result with you.
Current anime waifus redesigned like a 90’s anime
The user mapasheai posted on his Instagram profile these images where we see some of the most beloved waifus of today, redesigned in the way we saw the very popular animation style many years ago. The funny thing is that emblematic elements of each of these waifus are preserved, so they do not lose their essence and it is clearly distinguishable that they are them, no matter if their image is not the same as the one we are used to.
The first of these beautiful ladies is Sylphiette, from Mushoku Tensei, who keeps the same clothes we already know from the anime, the slight modifications she has suffered is a change in the style of her face and hairstyle, which is a little more voluptuous; also her ears are a little longer than in the anime. The second of these ladies is also from Mushoku Tensei and she is Eris Boreas Greyrat this curious girl of short temperament, with her there were several changes such as the color of her clothes and that her face makes her look bigger.
Then we have two beautiful waifus of Jujutsu Kaisen, Nobara Kugisaki and Mei Mei. The former did not have any modification with respect to her anime version, while the latter did have some changes in terms of her clothing and that she does not have her characteristic braid on her face as we usually see her, in the background we can see two other characters that are probably her brother Ui ui and the Kyoto teacher, Utahime. She is followed by two beautiful waifus from the anime Chainsaw Man, Power and the fearsome Makima, none of them suffered great modifications except for the color of Power’s horns that instead of being red, here they are black.
Next, we have Rimuru Tempest, from the anime Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken (That Time I Got Reincarnate As a Slime) who kept the same features we already know from the anime, followed by Frieren from Sousou no Frieren and Roxy from Mushoku Tensei, also with no changes in her features, and finally we have the cute Uraraka Ochako from the anime My Hero Academia, who really did not suffer major modifications and we can see her in her heroine’s outfit.
The users on social networks showed their appreciation for the work done by this person, with comments saying “Perfect”, as well as many emojis of hearts and love faces. Truly, these images that were made gave a very nice result, since all the waifus of the anime look very beautiful, their most beautiful features were highlighted and it was a fun way to see them in a different way than usual.
It’s funny how in the 90’s the animation style was quite identifiable and to see how it has progressed nowadays is something that never ceases to amaze. Each animation studio and of course each person in charge of animating our favorite stories, gives their own touch, thus creating a unique seal for each of the stories that are part of their catalog and distinguish them in the industry.
