The anime adaptation of the yuri manga Watashi wo Tabetai, Hitodenashi (This Monster Wants to Eat Me) has announced through their respective official media that it will premiere on television in Japan during the month of October 2025. This wonderful news was accompanied by its first promotional video.
Additionally, the respective official media for the anime adaptation of the Watashi wo Tabetai, Hitodenashi manga have unveiled a series of visuals starring characters Hinako Yaotose, Shiori Oumi and Miko Yashiro.
The production team for the anime Watashi wo Tabetai, Hitodenashi is as follows: Naoyuki Kuzuya will be the chief director, while Yuusuke Suzuki will be the anime director. Animation studio Studio Lings is in charge of the anime’s production. Mitsutaka Hirota is in charge of writing and supervising the anime’s scripts. Nozomi Ikuyama is in charge of the anime’s character design. Ryousuke Naya is in charge of composing the anime’s soundtrack.

Watashi wo Tabetai, Hitodenashi, also known as This Monster Wants to Eat Me in the West, is a yuri manga and drama that is written and illustrated by Naekawa Sai. The work began publication in Japanese publisher ASCII Media Works’ Dengeki Maoh magazine since August 2020. Currently, Watashi wo Tabetai, Hitodenashi is still in serialization and has 9 collected volumes.
The manga Watashi wo Tabetai, Hitodenashi has the following description: “I have come to eat you,” so softly pronounces the mermaid Shiori as she emerges from the sea and takes Hinako, a high school girl, by the hand. Hinako lives alone in a village by the sea and possesses an unusually delicious body that is irresistible to nearby monsters. To make sure she matures in the best conditions, Shiori tries to protect Hinako, all so that one day he can devour every bit of her. What will become of Hinako’s feelings when this unjust death approaches her…?
