Publication of the light novel began in Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko imprint of Kadokawa Publishing House in February 2021 and to date, the work consists of 9 published volumes.
The work has a manga adaptation by Tenamachi Saho. The manga has been published in Kodansha’s Magazine Pocket service since October 2022. Currently, the literary franchise has more than 5 million copies in circulation.

Alisa Mikhailovna “Alya” Kujou, the half-Russian half-Japanese treasurer of the school’s student council, is known for her intelligence, impressive looks, and rigid personality. In contrast to her almost flawless personality, Alya’s unmotivated classmate, Masachika Kuze, slacks off during classes and seems to show no interest.
Alya, irritated at first, becomes increasingly intrigued by Masachika and begins to express her affection for him in Russian. However, she ignores his secret: she understands the language fluently! Because of a childhood friend who was temporarily in Japan, Masachika has been studying Russian in the hope of meeting her again.
As the two spend more time together, their playful and eccentric relationship quickly deepens. Meanwhile, the two must learn to manage their new and growing feelings for each other.
