One of the main characters of the anime The Quintessential Quintuplets (Go-Toubun no Hanayome) had an unexpected appearance through the popular Japanese website PIXIV aimed at illustrators or artists. The AIs (Artificial Intelligence) have easily made their way among the community of the platform. In this case, we cover a publication made by the user “ai cosplayer” who shared an illustration of Itsuki Nakano.
Although this romantic comedy anime ended on May 20, 2022 with the premiere of its movie “The Quintessential Quintuplets Movie”, it has not been a reason for its popularity to die among the fans of the franchise and the Otaku culture on the internet.

The final result reveals a “realistic” version of how Itsuki Nakano would look if she were a person from our world. Unlike the official version, this illustration presents some noticeable variations that alter the origin of the character. Starting with her characteristic object in the work and that refers to the number of sisters that she is, her star clip is changed by a headband that also has a star, however, it changes from being a generic yellow star to being a starfish in golden tones.
The eyes also undergo an alteration, they completely forget about the dark blue color that each of the Nakano sisters has, and they give her eyes of teal (blue-green) hue.
Unfortunately, due to the way the illustration was made, we cannot appreciate more details of the uniform that this version of Itsuki Nakano is wearing. In the physical aspect, we must emphasize that the facial features are quite oriented to those of a Japanese teenager, giving this point of being even more realistic.
Although this is not the first work that this user shares of the franchise The Quintessential Quintuplets, we can affirm that this is the work that contains more contrast with its original version.
The manga Go-Toubun no Hanayome, also known as The Quintessential Quintuplets, was written and illustrated by Negi Haruba. And it was first published in the magazine Shuukan Shonen Magazine by Kodansha on August 9, 2017. It should be noted that the manga reached its end in 2020, and consisted of 14 compilation volumes (14.5 – special volume) published in total.
The anime Go-Toubun no Hanayome premiered on January 10, 2019, and consisted of 2 seasons (24 episodes in total) and a movie titled “Eiga Go-Toubun no Hanayome”. The animation studio Tezuka Productions was in charge of producing the first season of the series; however, the second season was produced by the animation studio Bibury Animation Studios.
Synopsis of The Quintessential Quintuplets:
In “The Quintessential Quintuplets”, Fuutarou Uesugi is an outstanding high school student who faces a life full of challenges. His reserved and lonely personality has left him without friends and his family is dealing with financial problems due to the debt his father has left. One day, during his lunch hour, he finds himself in an argument with a transfer student who has taken his seat, which creates a mutual dislike between them.
However, he is presented with a unique opportunity to work as a private tutor for the daughter of a wealthy family, which would allow him to pay off his family’s debt. But he is surprised to discover that the student is actually the same girl he argued with, Itsuki Nakano.
Despite his attempts to get along with Itsuki, Uesugi soon discovers that his job as a private tutor is more complicated than he had thought. He discovers that Itsuki is one of the quintuplets and he must tutor all of them, including Miku, Yotsuba, Nino and Ichika. The sisters are not interested in studying and do not want to have anything to do with a tutor. But Uesugi goes ahead with his job, determined to help the sisters overcome their academic problems and please them, because his family’s livelihood depends on his success.
