With the announcement of the new anime adaptation of Rumiko Takahashi’s classic manga Ranma 1/2, fans have shown their enthusiasm for this surprise return. However, the return of this franchise seems to be closer than one imagined, since in a live broadcast it was announced that the new Ranma 1/2 anime is scheduled to premiere in Japan on October 5 this year through the Netflix platform.
cIt is worth noting that, for the moment, it is unknown whether the premiere of the new Ranma 1/2 anime on the Netflix platform will be worldwide, so we will have to wait for further updates on which platform it will be broadcast legally. Among other surprises that were announced in this special broadcast, the presentation of the first official trailer of the series also stands out, along with the news that the renowned animation studio MAPPA (Jujutsu Kaisen, Chainsaw Man and Shingeki no Kyojin: The Final Season) will be in charge of the production of the anime.
The new Ranma 1/2 anime will premiere on October 5 this year.
The new official trailer shows us a preview of the work that the animation studio MAPPA is doing in this new Ranma 1/2 anime and to the good fortune of the audience that enjoyed this classic in its original language, many of the original voice cast will return to reprise their roles. The female version of Ranma Saotome will have Megumi Hayashibara returning as her interpreter, while Akane Tendo will have Noriko Hidaka, her original voice.
Additionally, it was also announced the opening of an official website for the new Ranma 1/2 anime, where the first visual image of this series, so awaited by the audience that grew up with this series, was presented.
But that’s not all, as the production team that will be involved in the new Ranma 1/2 anime was also presented, which is as follows: Konosuke Uda will be in charge of directing the anime. As previously mentioned, the animation studio MAPPA will be in charge of the production of the anime, while Hiromi Taniguchi will be in charge of the character designs. Kimiko Ueno will be in charge of composing the anime and Kaoru Wada will be in charge of composing the soundtrack.

Ranma 1/2 introduces us to the life of Ranma Saotome is a world-class martial artist and a prodigy of the Saotome school of martial arts “Anything Goes”. During his training in China, he and his father meet a terrible fate when they accidentally fall into a cursed spring. Now, Ranma is cursed to turn into a girl when cold water splashes on him, and only hot water can turn him back into a boy.
Things get even more complicated when Ranma discovers that his father has arranged for him to marry one of Soun Tendo’s three daughters to secure the future of the Tendo dojo. Although Soun learns of Ranma’s situation, he is still determined to go through with the engagement and chooses his youngest daughter, Akane, who happens to be an expert martial artist and has a reputation for hating men.
