The world of manga continues to grow year after year, and while some mangakas prefer to work on several projects at the same time, others prefer to dedicate themselves to only one until it is finished, of course, all this considering some pauses while following its serialization, the reception of the public and the success it may have in sales. On this occasion, Sankaku Head, author of the manga Himouto! Umaru-chan surprises with a spectacular news to all his fans, because the new manga he has been working on already has a release date.
Sankaku Head announces new manga
Sankaku Head began publishing the manga Himouto! Umaru-chan from 2013 to 2017 under the label of Shueshia publishing house, and thanks to its sales, it allowed it to have its two-season anime adaptation, the first released in 2015 and the second in 2017. The story focuses on the protagonist, Umaru Doma, a high school girl who is admired by many at school, as she seems to be the perfect girl, with outstanding grades, diverse skills and popular for her cute appearance.
All of the above is only a facade to society, because when she gets home she is someone totally opposite. Even changing her appearance, she becomes a girl who loves to waste time, eating junk and playing video games, and if it weren’t for her brother, she wouldn’t survive for long with that lifestyle. The plot was something that readers and viewers alike loved for its genius combination of life recounting with touches of comedy.
We are just starting this year and the announcements are not long in coming, something that is undoubtedly gratifying for fans. Recently, the mangaka Sankaku Head, has shared through his Twitter account the announcement of the release of his new story. It is a new project that, in the words of the author, mentions that this time the story will focus on the experiences of his daughter Sami and her father. And of course, thanking those who have followed his career for the support they have shown him, as well as those who approach this new project.
The manga is tentatively called “My Mana Musume”, but the mangaka clearly mentions that the title may differ at the time of publication. Another relevant fact is that this project will be initially published and serialized under the Shogakukan publishing house’s imprint, in the weekly magazine Shogakukan Big Comic Spirits, in its 12th issue, soon to be released. Available from February 19.
In addition to the announcement of his upcoming manga, he also shared a series of images in which we can see his daughter Sami-chan, who will be the heroine of the story. He describes her as a cute little girl in elementary school, energetic, who likes to be always on the move and playing all the time. Of the illustrations we can say that they have a nice design, with pink shades predominating in her eyes and dress and silver hair, with a four-petal flower brooch in yellow, and accessories such as her backpack and purple tennis shoes.
The comments from fans were not long in coming and excitedly began to praise this new manga saying that the first glimpse looks cute and “purifying”, looking forward to its release to acquire it. And other curious ones saying that Sami has a resemblance to Eri from My Hero Academia, yes, I thought so too.
