A couple of days ago it was announced that the romantic comedy manga “Kareshi Tokidoki Kanojo” (My Boyfriend Sometimes is a Girlfriend) would come to an end after the publication of 10 chapters. This news was a great shock for the fans of this story, since they had great expectations on it, because this work was created by the author Musawo, who we must mention is the author of another well known romantic comedy manga: Koi to Uso (Love and Lies), so knowing that her new work would come to an end suddenly, was a very sad news.
The last volume of “Kareshi Tokidoki Kanojo” has been announced.
In the Twitter/X profile @MangaMoguraRE was shared the news that the romantic comedy manga “Kareshi Tokidoki Kanojo” comes to an end with its third volume, later was attached an image of the cover of this volume, likewise in the comments some fans of the series expressed their disappointment to know that it came to an end.
“Kareshi Tokidoki Kanojo” was published in Bessatsu Shonen Magazine where it captured the attention of several people and little by little created a fan base that anxiously awaited the arrival of the next chapter. In this they found a funny and quite endearing manga, where they created a certain affection for Hodaka Akizuki and Chihaya Shishizaki who are the main characters of the manga. Seeing their problems, witnessing their achievements and of course the romance of the work, made the fans feel identified.
Author Musawo expressed her decision on Twitter/X where she commented that there are many reasons why she made this decision to end Kareshi Tokidoki Kanojo, but the one she emphasizes was that she thinks she made a mistake by producing these characters from scratch. He expresses that drawing the work was a lot of fun and that he became fond of the characters, so he apologizes to the fans, hopes for patience and expresses his will to continue drawing and improve in the future.
Many fans understood his decision and expressed their feelings in different comments such as: “Thank you for your hard work on the series, I look forward to your next work, so do your best!”, “I’m a little disappointed because I really like Musawo’s work, but no matter what they say, the work belongs to the author, so I have nothing more to complain or deny. I’m really looking forward to seeing your next work. It’s really wonderful work!”.
As you can see, fans of the “Kareshi Tokidoki Kanojo” series are obviously saddened by the end of the manga, but at the same time they respect the author’s decision and many of them openly expressed their eagerness to see her next work.
The story of “Kareshi Tokidoki Kanojo” captivated many readers with its funny and very different plot, which revolves around Hodaka Akizuki a 17 year old boy who like many teenagers is in love with Chihaya Shishizaki one of the most beautiful students at school. Like any boy who wants to be recognized, Hodaka decides to confess his feelings to Chihaya who to the surprise of our protagonist, she accepts his feelings, thus making them both a couple.
Everything seems to be going well, until one day Hodaka begins to experience an inexplicable change after having kissed Chihaya, and it seems that Chihaya keeps a secret that she does not dare to reveal even to her boyfriend Hodaka. In this way we enter a story of the most fun and witty where we will go hand in hand with our protagonists is this turbulent road full of obstacles that shows us how complicated and different is their relationship.
