Through Twitter/X, a first glimpse of what awaits us in this long-awaited Japanese-style animated adaptation was unveiled. A first image of what will make up The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim was revealed and it really is spectacular. The studio Sola Entertainment, which has previously been in charge of the adaptation of Shenmue: The Animation and Tower of God, together with Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh will be in charge of the production of the new Lord of the Rings anime film in this new installment, which promises to be one of the best in terms of story and animation quality.
And in the direction is Kenji Kamiyama, who has been in charge of Blade Runner: Black Lotus. This anime film of The Lord of the Rings tells the story of Helm Mano, the ancient king of Rohan, in whose honor the fortress of Helm’s Deep is named, and we can see Helm Hammerhand and Princess Héra of Rohan in this first teaser. It will deal with the battle at Helm’s Deep mentioned in “The Two Towers”, in which the Rohirrim defended their kingdom from the invasion of the Dunledings.
This first image has caused an impressive stir among fans and they have been very excited about this release, as they have positively praised the animation and mentioned that the style is similar to the animations of the 90’s, very appropriate for the fantasy of The Lord of the Rings. Due to this first glimpse, the only thing we have for sure is the release date of the movie The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim and the best of all is that we will not have to wait too long, as it will be released this year, on December 13.
