The Legend Of Zelda

Last May 12, Nintendo gamers celebrated one of the happiest moments in recent times, being that one of the best titles released in recent years, The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom, turned one year old in the market. Nintendo developers really went all out to make the perfect sequel to one of the greatest RPG’s in history, Breath Of The Wild, that’s why Tears Of The Kingdom had so much hype that it took a GOTY in the 2022 edition in the category of “most anticipated game of 2023”.

And yes it was, expectations were sky high that gamers not only Switch, but in general, were eager to know the new adventures of our hero, Link in Hyrule, and indeed, it met the demands from minute 0 of gameplay. With graphics that exploited the OLED to the fullest, an excellent narrative with Hyrule kingdom in the midst of another cataclysm and reunions full of nostalgia with allies made in BOTW: Sidon, Yunobo, Prunia and Riju to the rescue of Princess Zelda in captivity and a Ganondorf stronger than ever and that has one of the best beginnings and endings that can be seen.

The Legend Of Zelda Tears Of The Kingdom

Considered by many as “The best game ever”, The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom has a score of 96/100 on the Metacritic page, while Breath Of The Wild has a 97/100, neither of the two reaches the best game of the whole saga, Ocarina Of Time of Nintendo 64 that has a score of 99/100, being the latter an almost perfect but forgotten game.

However, and despite the good reviews in specialized media, the latest game in the saga of The Legend Of Zelda has not had the acceptance it deserves by the gaming community. And it is that Switch players abandon it before even reaching the climax of the game, in addition to making harsh and strong comparisons with the predecessor BOTW.

Zelda Totk Green Goblin Glider Gameplay

This is not for less, in The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom, the gameplay is not a problem when the tutorials are mastered, but more complicated as the story progresses with the mechanics of construction in the style of titles like Minecraft or the battle royal Fornite, not pleasant for those who are accustomed to linear games, plus this is the first game in the series that employs this mechanics that did not please many fans.

The captivating and charming story of The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom was overshadowed by this new style of game by the developers that although, for some, gives them some freedom to elaborate spectacular things, for others it was a cause of abandonment and misinterpretation of a sequel that was what a game like BOTW deserved, although TLOZ: TOKT despite all the good things it offers made clear something, all gamers are different.
