The First Descendant is one of the most overshadowed and underrated action RPGs, but one of the most interesting for its mechanics, premise and waifus. This third-person shooter offers vibrant graphics and battles against an alien race that is about to conquer the planet, the “Vulgus”. The game casts us as the “Descendants”, the last hope to defeat these beings. With 2 seasons completed and a third confirmed, the title will bring a collaboration with NieR: Automata as well as many surprises for its loyal users.
The First Descendant and its new features
The First Descendant gained a solid fan base in less than a year, the same achievement as its sister studio “Blue Archive”. Although the latter has a long trajectory in the “Free To Play” videogame industry and has another premise with other mechanics. Thanks to all its titles, mostly mobile, it was able to get its own RPG focused on Action (ARPG) at the beginning of this 2025. “The First Berserker Khazan” was the brainchild of South Korea’s Nexon and is available for PC, PS5 and Xbox X|S Series.
The fact that The First Descendant has slow growth does not mean that it is a failure and they reached an agreement with Square Enix developers of NieR: Automata. The idea will be to bring the 2 main waifus of the title (A2 and 2B) to The First Descendant which makes their fans happy. The collaboration will be the second one in less than a year with a console video game, since, at the end of 2024 they made one with Stellar Blade. In this collaboration it was possible to obtain the skins and cosmetics of 2B, A2, Emil and 9S, being one of the best of last year.
NieR: Automata is the main attraction
The collaboration with NieR: Automata and arrival of 2B and A2 for season 3 of The First Descendant “Breakthrough” launches on July 2. However, there are some new additions for users of NEXON’s title that we list below:
> New Battlefield: Axion Plains.
> New vehicle: Motorcycle.
> New content: Colossus field, raid for up to 8 players.
> New feature “Salon”.: Players can interact with their descendants.
> History preview: Reappearance of “Karel”, romance between Enzo and Nell, expansion of the game universe.
> New Descendant: NPC Nell is integrated into the game.
> New Ultimate Descendent: Ultimate Luna.
> New weapon: A sword that has 3 different types of shapes.
Remember that season 2.2 is still available, so if you are a former user of The First Descendant or simply a fan of NieR: Automata you have to wait until the beginning of July to enter this new experience.
