On April 6, 2019, the hit manga Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba released its anime adaptation which consisted of 4 seasons (64 episodes in total) and three movies. The anime is produced by the animation studio Ufotable under the direction of Haruo Sotozaki. The series is available legally through the Crunchyroll and Netflix platforms and has an English dub.
The anime Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba has the following description: Since the death of his father, the burden of supporting the family has fallen on the shoulders of Tanjirou Kamado. Although they live impoverished lives on a remote mountain, the Kamados are able to enjoy a relatively quiet and happy life. One day, Tanjirou decides to go down to the local village to earn some money by selling charcoal. On the way back, night falls, forcing Tanjirou to take refuge in the house of a strange man, who warns him of flesh-eating demons that lurk in the forest at night.
The next day, when he finally returns home, he finds a horrifying sight: his entire family has been slaughtered. Worse, the only survivor is his sister Nezuko, turned into a bloodthirsty demon. Consumed by rage and hatred, Tanjirou vows to avenge his family and stand by his only sister. Together with a mysterious group calling themselves the Demon Slayer Corps, Tanjirou will do whatever it takes to kill the demons and protect the remnants of his beloved sister’s humanity.
