The Bocchi the Rock! movies have arrived on Crunchyroll!

After releasing the Latin Spanish dub of the anime Bocchi the Rock! a few months ago, Crunchyroll has a new surprise in store for fans of the series, which has been the talk of the town since its premiere in Japan in 2022, with new content from the franchise being added to the platform.

The new Bocchi the Rock! anime content consists of the series’ compilation films, titled Bocchi the Rock! Re: and Bocchi the Rock! Re:Re:, so if you haven’t seen these films yet, this is an excellent opportunity to do so. However, if you are a fan of the English dubbing, we must inform you that the films do not have this option.

The manga Bocchi the Rock! began its publication in the magazine Manga Time Kirara, which belongs to the Houbunsha publishing house, in December 2017 and has 6 compilation volumes released to date. The work written and illustrated by Aki Hamaji was well received by readers, leading Houbunsha to announce an anime adaptation for the manga in early 2021.

The anime adaptation of the manga ‘Bocchi the Rock!’ premiered on Japanese television on 8 October 2022, consisting of a total of 12 episodes. The series was produced by renowned animation studio CloverWorks and was legally simulcast in America on the Crunchyroll platform.

The anime Bocchi the Rock! has a compilation movie that was made up of 2 parts. The films were released in Japanese cinemas on 7 June and 9 August. This film showed different scenes from the 12 episodes of the series, plus some additional scenes created for the film.

The anime Bocchi the Rock! has the following description: Hitori ‘Bocchi’ Gotou, lonely and anxious to socialise with others, spends her time playing the guitar. One fateful day, Bocchi meets extroverted drummer Nijika Ijichi, who invites her to join the band Kessoku when their guitarist, Ikuyo Kita, runs away before their first gig. Soon after, Bocchi meets her latest partner, the brilliant bassist Ryou Yamada.

Although their first performance together is mediocre, the girls are strengthened by their shared love of music, and are soon joined again by Kita. Bocchi and her classmates, who find happiness in performing, do their best to improve as musicians while making the most of their fleeting high school days.
