Fujoni Omori reveals some curiosities of “DanMachi” and talks about its ending
It turns out that in a recent interview for the media “Realsound“, the author of the successful work “DanMachi” has revealed some secrets of his series of light novels, as well as made it clear that he already knows how his story will end. It should be remembered that this work was written by Fujoni Omori to participate in the fourth GA Bunko Awards, which he won and as a result led to the publication of DanMachi, and the author commented: “The end point of the main story was decided before submitting the story for the GA Bunko Award, and this has not changed. However, it is at a stage where some deviations have occurred.“
“Also, some parts have not changed, others are being handled flexibly. I guess you could say there is a sense of confidence in my experience points from having been an author for 10 years.” In addition to this comment, the author revealed 3 very interesting things that were changed from the original manuscript of “DanMachi”. 1.- The Monsterphilia arc was added for the award presentation. Omori feared that Bell’s battle with the minotaur and his encounter with Lili would not happen otherwise.
2.- The Haruhime arc was toned down after the story was published. Since the original version was set in a brothel, Omori planned for the arc to be “a bit more extreme.” His editor at the time said the idea was no good. 3.- The Monsterphilia arc was changed after the story was published to have Bell rescue Hestia instead of Syr. Omori planned for Freya to be a quieter mentor instead of a schemer. Bell helping Syr would have been part of Freya’s plan to create artificial problems so she could step in and solve them, however, her editor felt Hestia should have been the focus.
Undoubtedly these revelations are quite interesting, as they let us imagine how the work would have gone if these small details had not been changed, in particular we can say that a touch more rawness would have been great in Haruhime’s arc, but we are really very satisfied with how the story of “DanMachi” has been presented in general.
Tell us in the Comments section what you thought of these revelations by Fujoni Omori, and if you would have liked these details not to have been changed, as well as if you think it was the right decision, since later the work would have an anime adaptation and this could have brought censorship problems. We are very interested in your opinion.
