Stellar Blade is undoubtedly one of the surprise games of 2024. Many players were excited to see the graphics of this incredible title and above all, that it has one of the prettiest female protagonists so far. To calm the anxieties of fans who already want to have the game on their consoles, a demo of the game was released in which we can appreciate the beautiful protagonist and try the fights that we will have throughout her adventure.
Stellar Blade makes an appearance in a demo that has delighted all players who have already tried it out
In this Stellar Blade demo we will start with a conflict in the vast outer space, where the ships that transport the beautiful girls, among them our protagonist EVE, are involved. The demo introduces us fully to the combat with quite impressive sequences, from the cinematics, which are very well elaborated, all this until the moment when we will have to fight with EVE.
The gameplay of Stellar Blade feels quite fluid and without jerky frames at the time of starting the frenetic fun, plus the fighting style that we are given with the protagonist is as if it were a fusion of the characters Dante from Devil May Cry with 2B from NieR Automata. And is that the beautiful girl has a sword at the beginning, with a few pretty impressive skills, which we can go improving and also acquiring more to enhance our pace of play.
The world in which Stellar Blade takes place is quite large, although it is not an open world, you will have enough freedom to explore, but at the same time the game will give you visual clues of where exactly you will have to direct EVE to be able to explore the mapping. Also, the hidden enemies factor is a nice touch of difficulty that is appreciated, as this way you don’t leave empty places, although sometimes it feels repetitive, it has a touch of inspiration in some soulsborne games that will make you want to try it.
One of the points have liked enough is that the game has dubbed into Latin Spanish, and although in this demo of Stellar Balde we can not fully enjoy all the dialogues of the same, if you can say that the Latin dub does not disappoint at all. This voice work has its special touch that makes the adventure an auditory delight, because it feels that the voices are correct for the characters that we find in the demo.
Something that many of the players will notice somewhat familiar in Stellar Blade, is that two titles in particular are referenced in a subtle way, and these are the rest points that are scattered throughout the game. For in these, just like NieR Automata and FF7 Remake, they have vending machines and a small seat where EVE can rest and recover life, as well as refill the health pills that will be needed on more than one occasion. Also in these safe places EVE’s abilities can be boosted, as well as consumables can be purchased.
Something that should be highlighted in Stellar Blade is the dynamism of the combats and how each enemy has a different set of moves, as it is not the same to encounter a small enemy that usually go in a group to attack or a medium sized enemy which battles individually. While each of these enemies has its own set of moves, once you encounter several of them, it is a matter of having a fairly trained panoramic view, because the attacks do not really change.
But if we talk about the bosses, in this demo of Stellar Blade we will encounter one that, although it may be the big challenge for some players, the truth is that, once you understand the combat system, it will not be difficult at all. The boss we have in this demo is quite impressive in terms of design and moveset, as we find an enemy that can master the element of lightning, so it imbues its two swords with this, thus making it an early challenge to overcome.
The boss design can be defined as a mixture of the most grotesque enemies of Dark Souls and those found in Bayonetta titles, as the boss is not just a set of movements without depth. And it is that he himself, being able to summon lightning whenever he wants and in addition to that, make a pretty heavy rain of them, make dodging your doctorate with certified specialization in this game.
It’s impressive what the Stellar Blade demo delivered right now, and no doubt we’re not the only ones excited to see what the base game of Stellar Blade will bring when it comes out in April. It will undoubtedly be an undisputed contender for a spot in this year’s GOTYs, although the fight for that spot is still far from over, we hope to see it at the December awards this year.
