In order to commemorate the arrival of Cat Day, also known as “Nyan Nyan Nyan Nyan Day” in Japan, the production committee for the anime adaptation of the manga “The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You” (Kimi no Koto ga Daidaidaidaidaidaidaisuki na 100-nin no Kanojo) has surprised fans of the franchise by sharing a charming illustration featuring the character Karane Inda, the second girlfriend of protagonist Rentarou Aijou, as the main protagonist.

This beautiful illustration of Karane Inda was created by the character designer of the anime “The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You“, Akane Yano, and has been highlighted by fans of the series for portraying the love that this waifu has for cats, a more than timely detail for the celebration of Cat Day in Japan. It is worth noting that this illustration was originally presented on Akane Yano‘s personal Twitter account.

The anime adaptation of the manga “The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You” began airing on Japanese television on October 8, 2023, consisting of a total of 12 episodes. It was produced by Bibury Animation Studio, known for its work on the second season of the anime “The Quintessential Quintuplets“. The series was legally simulcast on the Crunchyroll platform.
“The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You” tells the story of Rentarou Aijou, a young man who has experienced numerous love disappointments. Exhausted from this situation, it seems that fortune smiles on him for the first time when he comes across a curious shrine that caught his attention.
After performing a prayer at a shrine, the god of the place grants him an amazing opportunity: to meet a hundred soul mates at his high school. Although skeptical at first, Rentarou soon discovers the truth of the god’s words when two girls, Hakari Hanazono and Karane Inda, confess their love to him the same day they meet him.
However, the god omits a crucial catch: if either of his soul mates fails to establish a relationship with him, she will face death. Now, with the fate of his one hundred soul mates in his hands, Rentarou decides to accept the challenge and date them all.
