Within the isekai genre, the novel series Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken (That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime) has positioned itself since its appearance as a favorite for many fans, as its story has captivated them, but for some, the third season of the anime that is currently still being broadcast, its development has been described as a little slow and with very little action.
Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken’s popularity has declined this season.
Although fans of Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken were very excited for the premiere of this installment, some fans have pointed out that this is because the first five chapters have been filled with “a lot of text” and few confrontations. However, we must remember that this is just the beginning because this season will span two consecutive arcs, which means it will be on the air for six months.
It is obvious that fans are expecting epic moments in the story and although this season does include them, what have been the first six episodes have become tedious because fans have noticed that the teams of the protagonist and antagonists have only had moments where they meet to talk and plan strategies in the entire episode. That is why it has been described by some as boring, however, this is a necessary part of the plot, as it is like the basis of what will come next and on which depends the development for the next confrontations.
No doubt for fans of Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken this is no surprise, since all this information is included in the light novels and they know that so many meetings are a vital part of the development of the story. Above all, it focuses on Rimuru’s thoughts about the situation she is facing, and if they were not shown in the anime, it would be difficult to understand the decisions she will make later on.
One of the fans wrote: “I have no problem with reunions in the light novel or manga. I have a lot of problems with these in anime. In the light novel it works, you can read at your own pace, which makes the experience much faster. Anime stretches the dialogue to fit 24 minutes of something you could have read in 5 minutes. The pacing is off, despite being very faithful. The context of the dialogue isn’t the problem, it’s the way it’s presented.”
Fans of Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken have also said that this is about the direction of the third season and that they wouldn’t mind watching the reunions if only some characters had a bit more movement in the scene and not just stay static all that time. So much so that even Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken has made it out of the top that Anime Trending organizes at the end of the week to vote for their favorite episodes.
These first episodes of Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken have generated diverse opinions about this third season and although it is still too early to draw conclusions, the comments have been divided: between fans who know the original work and know well how the ground is being prepared and those who only follow the animated adaptation who simply expect to see more action. What we can be sure of is that the expected confrontation between Rimuru Tempest and Hinata Sakaguchi will be so interesting that many will forget or understand what has happened in these previous episodes.
Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken: Satoru Mikami is a 37 year old working man and also the protagonist of this work, his life goes normally until one day when he was going to meet a friend is attacked by an assailant who ends up stabbing him and ends up losing consciousness. At first our protagonist has no name, that’s when a dragon that has been sealed and which Satoru feels sorry is why he says to become his friend, in gratitude the dragon who is called “Veldora Tempest” gives him a name and this is “Rimuru Tempest“.
Rimuru Tempest begins a new life in this world, making friends among humans, monsters and magical beings, little by little and thanks to the bonds of friendship that Rimuru has established, he manages to found the nation “Great Jura Tempest”, where different races coexist peacefully.
