The official media of Japanese publisher Micro Magazine has unveiled the official cover of the 22nd volume for Fuse and Mitz Vah’s isekai light novel, Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken (That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime). According to the information presented on the official website of the publisher Micro Magazine, this new volume of the light novel Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken is scheduled to be released in bookstores and stores in Japan on January 30, 2025 and will contain 364 pages in total.

Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken, also known as That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime in the West, is an isekai light novel that is written by Fuse and illustrated by Mitz Vah. The work began to be published under the GC Novels imprint of Micro Magazine publishing house since May 2014.
The work has a manga adaptation by Taiki Kawakami. It began its publication in Kodansha’s Monthly Shonen Sirius magazine in March 2015. Some time ago, it was reported that the literary franchise surpassed 30 million copies in circulation.
On October 1, 2018, the light novel Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken released its anime adaptation. This adaptation consisted of three seasons, totaling 72 episodes, accompanied by 5 OVAs and a movie. The series was produced by the animation studio 8-Bit, with the direction divided between Yasuhito Kikuchi for the first season and Atsushi Nakayama for the second and third. The series is available legally on the Crunchyroll platform and has an English dub.

The light novel Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken has the following description: 37-year-old Satoru Mikami is a typical company worker who is perfectly content with his monotonous lifestyle in Tokyo, except for the fact that he has never once gotten a girlfriend in his life. In the middle of a chance encounter with his colleague, he falls victim to a random mugger on the street and is stabbed. However, as he succumbs to his wounds, a peculiar voice echoes in his mind and recites a bunch of orders that the dying man can’t make sense of.
When Satoru regains consciousness, he discovers that he has been reincarnated as a slime slime in an unknown realm. In doing so, he acquires new abilities, especially the power to devour anything and mimic its appearance and abilities. He then encounters the catastrophe-level sealed monster “Storm Dragon” Veldora, who had been locked up for the past 300 years for wiping out a city. Satoru, sympathetic to his plight, befriends him and promises to help him destroy the seal. In return, Veldora grants him the name Rimuru Tempest to grant him divine protection.
Now freed from the mundanities of his past life, Rimuru sets out on a new journey with a clear goal in mind. As he grows accustomed to his new physique, his gooey antics spread throughout the world, gradually altering his destiny.
