Monthly Shonen Sunday magazine and with more than 19 compilation volumes released by Shogakukan publishing house, the popular romantic comedy manga “Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san” (Teasing Master Takagi-san) has come to an end.

This news was confirmed by the social networks of Souichirou Yamamoto, author of the manga Teasing Master Takagi-san, who thanked the readers for the constant support that his work received throughout all these years. Along with these words of thanks, the author of the manga Teasing Master Takagi-san shared a special illustration to commemorate the end of his work.

However, an editor of Monthly Shonen Sunday magazine announced unexpected news for fans of the Teasing Master Takagi-san franchise, announcing the upcoming release of “Karakai Jouzu no Nishikata-san” (Teasin Master Nishikata-san), a new spin-off manga to be released in the November 2023 issue of Monthly Shonen Sunday magazine.

This spin-off manga will be handled by Mifumi Inaba, who is in charge of the illustrations for the other spin-off/sequel manga “Karakai Jouzu no (Moto) Takagi-san“, and will focus on Chii Nishikata, the daughter of Takagi and Nishikata, as a high school student. A special illustration for this new spin-off was unveiled a few days ago.

The manga “Karakai Jouzu no Takagi-san“, also known as “Teasing Master Takagi-san” in the West, is the work of Soichirou Yamamoto, who is in charge of both writing and illustration. Its serialization began in Gekkan Shonen Sunday Mini magazine, which belongs to the Shogakukan publishing house, in June 2013, and lasted until 2016. Subsequently, in July of the same year, the manga moved to Gekkan Shonen Sunday magazine.

Thanks to the enormous repercussion and popularity that the manga obtained in Japan, last January 8, 2018, the manga “Teasing Master Takagi-san” premiered its respective anime adaptation, which consisted of three seasons in total, covering a total of 36 episodes, accompanied by a movie. It should be noted that the renowned animation house Shin-Ei Animation led the production of the series, under the skillful direction of Hiroaki Akagi.
