A few days ago a new site was opened by Sunrise to announce their next work, which will be Maebashi Witches, a totally original work, which undoubtedly no one expected, but they already presented several surprises. On their website they released the first promotional video of the work, as well as other details that will serve to raise expectations about this new work that will undoubtedly make some people want to see it.
New anime Maebashi Witches to premiere in 2025
According to the Maebashi Witches website, the story of this anime will be set in the city of Maebashi, Gunma prefecture, about how five girls are coming of age. And from the looks of it, the story is going to follow a young girl named Yuina Akagi, who lives a pretty ordinary life until one day a mysterious frog appears in front of her and will make her life become more fun than usual.
Apparently, Maebashi Witches will be an anime that involves a bit of magic, although it is not the typical Mahou Shoujo that we are used to see, but a little more Slice of life, with characters that will seek to fulfill the dreams of others with a fun touch. After reading this we can realize that this is probably not an anime that will attract a lot of looks, but it might turn some people into fans of this one.
The studio in charge of this anime was Sunrise, while Junichi Yamamoto will be directing the anime at Bandai Namco Filmworks and PROJECT MBW, while Erika Yoshida will be in charge of the script of the series and Nozomi Tachibana will be in charge of the character designs, which were undoubtedly tailor-made. But of course this will not end there, as they also revealed the cast of seiyuus that will be in this new project.
The first to lend her voice to the characters of Maebashi Witches will be Sakura Kasuga, who will be playing Yuina Akagi, in the role of Azu Niisato will be Hinano Sakikawa, in the role of Kyoka Kitahara will be Rena Motomura, playing Choco Mitsumata will be Haruka Minami and finally joining this cast will be Honami Momose playing Mai Kamiizumi. Undoubtedly a very colorful and fresh cast for this new anime.
In the trailer we could see a lot of the design that will be used for the characters, from their attitudes, personalities and designs that more than one will love and with the animation that was given this time to this new story will certainly stand out for this aspect. We have yet to see more information about Maebashi Witches and if it will be broadcast on any special platform, but in the meantime the series will be premiering in April of next year, so we can only wait anxiously and see what information is revealed in the course of the months.
