It was this February 14th that a guy made a brave decision that takes a lot of courage to carry out. It is nothing more and nothing less than a marriage proposal!

This guy chose a very popular date, it was this February 14 that he gathered all his courage to take that big step in a relationship. In the short video we can see that he is kneeling in front of his beloved girlfriend, we suppose that it was at this moment where he asked her the important question “Will you marry me”, or something like that, then he proceeds to take her arm and then her hand to put the ring on it.

That’s right people, the otaku did it, he asked his beloved waifu to marry him. This act that the boy made, had a great impact on his girlfriend, moving her to tears, so we believe that obviously accepted the proposal of his lover, formalizing their relationship with the commitment. There is nothing left to say but long live the future spouses! Congratulations to the couple.

It is a well-known paradigm that people have about the otaku community, which is that an otaku will almost never or hardly ever have a partner. Vulgarly, they are called “old lady scarers”, due to the belief that a male of this subculture is so immersed in his hobbies such as watching anime, reading manga or playing video games, that they neglect their appearance and their personal relationships, affecting their socialization skills.

Another factor that attacks the otaku community is the stigma that people also have about them and their personality, since they think that an otaku by nature is introverted (this does not rule out the fact that there are cases where this is the case). The adjectives they are labeled with are weirdos, nerds, antisocial, and that they tend to prioritize their love with a 2D character. All of the above, of course, is false, this idea is totally wrong, but unfortunately it is still very popular even in the times we live in.

However, otaku and other subcultures are constantly struggling to break these stereotypes. The above is NOT a universal rule that applies to everyone who reads manga, watches anime or plays video games. As in any social group or community to which one belongs, experiences may vary depending on the person and their personal circumstances.

In this video posted on Facebook this February 14, it is clear that it is the same community present, those who are moved by the act of love that the boy did. It thrilled everyone who was there, including the boy’s possible friends and the general public, applauding and shouting with happiness for the couple, and it is not for less.
