Stellar Blade was one of the most anticipated video games of this year, as it promised to bring us one of the most interesting “waifus” of recent times, and Eve managed to be placed in very high positions, including its beautiful design and the different skins it had in the game, some so “whimsical” that it was decided to be censored. This is why many players missed the opportunity to see the protagonist in all her splendor, but now the possibility is back, since this decision was reversed thanks to complaints from the community.
Stellar Blade reverses course and removes censorship from Eve’s costumes
The Shift-Up studios responsible for Stellar Blade together with Sony, were naturally in denial before the social pressure of millions of people and media that demanded to censor the revealing body of our protagonist Eve. Shortly after the game was released, the decision was made, among others, that the girl’s most revealing outfits would be censored, so many lost the possibility of being able to see the character as she was originally conceived in the original versions of the game.
It was the last version, the censored one, which generated a revolution all over the Internet, keeping Stellar Blade as the main topic of conversation. It is important to mention that this censorship was not the direct work of the South Korean studio that created the game SHIFT UP, it was directly Sony, publisher of the game, who through communiqués exposed their disagreements, and the changes that the game would receive, one of the main ones was that “users who had a physical copy should also receive these patches”.
The disagreements from the users of the digital version (and also from some of the physical version) were so many, that they demanded refunds, thus starting a boycott to Sony and generating several economic losses for the parties involved by the patches put on the game. Now, in this new update, we can see Eve back with her “tight” outfit where the shoulders and neck are highlighted in detail, as well as the whole body of the girl in general.
To achieve this, gamers around the world joined together in a digital signature drive to remove the censorship of the Playstation 5 exclusive game. The drive was started by renowned user Mark Kern, while the gamer pressure continues not only on Change but also on Sony’s networks, including its digital store. The collection of signatures and the boycott towards Sony were the main causes for which they have returned day one costumes to the game.
Stellar Blade was officially released this April 26 exclusively for PlayStation 5 consoles and is being one of the best releases of the year, featuring a gameplay reminiscent of games like Bayonetta or NieR: Automata. In Stellar Blade the player takes on the role of Eve, a young woman who, along with her squad, must recover her home on Earth, which is desolate after fighting and losing against alien beings known as “Naytiba”. Here our protagonist will meet Adam, a survivor who takes her to the last settlement on Earth, where between them they will look for a way to recover the planet.
