Steins;Gate is created by Mages and NitroPlus. It shows us the normal life of a boy named Okabe Rintaro, who thinks he is a mad scientist, self-proclaiming himself Houin Kyouma. Together with his childhood best friend, Mayuri Shiina and his inseparable Super Hacker, Daru Hashida, they have a futuristic invention lab. Actually they are a group of friends who enjoy being together, one day their new invention, a microwave time machine, which has not worked as it should, causes something never seen before.
After attending a scientific meeting, Okabe meets the prodigy Makise Kurisu with whom he talks and converses, but at one point, upon meeting her again, he finds her lying dead on the floor. This causes Okabe to scream and run outside, avoiding a message to Daru about this tragic event. The moment he sends the message the world stops and apparently, something changed. His invention, the D-mail, of the microwave, apparently worked. How can time travel even be possible? This story focuses on time travel and the consequences of it in a masterful and unrepeatable way.
Rated as one of the best works to come out of Japan, Steins;Gate works as a great series to watch or a fantastic visual novel to enjoy. Without a doubt, the sound is one of its strongest points. Having a large repertoire of bands, artists and composers who have created audiovisual gems such as the openings and endings of the visual novels or anime adaptations.
