“Spy x Family” has become one of the most popular anime in recent times due to the charisma of the Forger family, especially Anya, who has captivated the followers of this series with her tender and funny personality. But now Tatsuya Endo, creator of this world, in one of his previous works shows us a character quite similar to Anya, but with a more adolescent look, which could indicate how the protagonist of Spy x Family would look like in a few years.
Ashe from Rengoku no Ashe could tell us what Anya from Spy x Family will look like in a few years.
Rengoku no Ashe is a one shot created by Tatsuya Endo in Jump SQ magazine and that later made its appearance again in an edition in Shōnen Jump+, where it was published instead of a normal chapter of Spy x Family and this time explained a little more of the connection that both stories had. One of the main characters in Rengoku no Ashe is Ashe Talton whose appearance is very similar to what we know of little Anya: Ashe has the same characteristic little horns on her head that we have seen on the protagonist of Spy x Family.
The difference is that Ashe looks older than Anya, who is still a child, even the Spy x Family mangaka himself has commented on this in an interview saying: “I really just adapted the design without thinking about it. Anya’s design is almost the same as Ashe’s, just simplified”, and Lin, the manga editor, added “Sometimes it is said that Anya’s design is based on Ashe and it is real that the design is one of the aspects. If you think about it, it’s a valuable read because you can see Anya in her teenage years.”
And while we don’t know what future plans Tatsuya Endodo has for the Spy x Family manga, or where he wants to take this story, with Ashe’s design we can already get an idea of what Anya would be like in her teenage years. Let’s hope that the mangaka allows us to see her in the future in her own story, since it would be very interesting to see how she changes and her personal relationships, both with her family and friends and in general what destiny has in store for this little girl who has brought so many laughs with her witticisms.
Another curious fact about Ashe’s design is that the earrings she has were also used for Yor, the waifu par excellence of Spy x Family. Regarding Ashe, she is a young woman with shoulder-length pink hair whose ends are curled, part of her hair is tied at the sides with horn-like ornaments. The back of her hair, is adorned with a ribbon and a flower-shaped ornament, previously, her hair was much longer and she tied it at the end with a long ribbon, before a villager pushed her into a torch, causing her hair to catch fire. Bel rescued her and cut her hair to prevent serious injury.
