SPY x FAMILY

SPY x FAMILY launches a trailer of its new video game

If you are excited about the recent release of SPY x FAMILY Season 2, then this new game is perfect for you. Titled SPY x FAMILY: Operation Memories, this is a console video game based on the hit anime series starring the Forger family. Although a few months ago we enjoyed some brief images that showed its relaxed gameplay, in which we control Anya Forger in her crazy adventures, Bandai Namco and the developer studio Groove Box Japan have just released an extensive new trailer in which we can notice that this title will encapsulate the tone of Spy x Family to perfection.

Anya is undoubtedly the most popular character of SPY x FAMILY, so it is completely logical that she is the protagonist of her own video game. The goal of SPY x FAMILY is to create a photo diary for the school, so we will have to accompany the little telepath in her day to day life to complete it: Whether it’s attending classes, spending time with her adoptive parents or going on exciting excursions to places like the beach or the museum. Every time you see something important or interesting, you must take a good picture of it. This game certainly manages to maintain that “Slice of Life” atmosphere with a background of spies and assassins, characteristic of SPY x FAMILY.

But SPY x FAMILY is not just about exploring and taking pictures, it also has an interesting element in its gameplay: More than 15 different mini-games, each with its own mechanics and based on iconic scenes from the anime. You can train or cook with Yor, control Yuri as he eats his disgusting dishes, play cards against Damian and much more. If you do well in these mini-games, you can earn points, items and outfits. That’s right, another adorable aspect of Operation Memories is the ability to change clothes, not only for Anya, but also for Loid, Yor and Bond, with various outfits based on episodes of the series.

But it’s not just about the gameplay, it also looks like SPY x FAMILY will know how to translate the fun personality of the original series on our consoles. The music we hear in the trailer is identical to that of the anime, as both are based on the old spy movies. And thankfully, it looks like all the original voice actors will be returning to reprise their roles. We’re also thankful that Operation Memories isn’t afraid to replicate Anya’s over-the-top reactions that made us laugh so much in the anime. We expect many memes to come out of this game as well.

All of us otaku hope that our anime will have a perfect video game adaptation. While other properties like One Piece or Fullmetal Alchemist perhaps require much, much bigger and more ambitious projects, SPY x FAMILY: Operation Memories is just what SPY x FAMILY needs: An adorable and relaxed experience, with a huge dose of humor. This title will be available in 2024 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC.
