At the end of the week, the popular third-person shooter title, Splatoon 3 announced the date of arrival of its new update called Chill Season 2023, this update is the most anticipated by the community due to the huge wave of new content that will arrive to the game and being possibly the last major update of the year, expectations are sky high.
Along with the announcement of the arrival of the update, a new announcement trailer was also revealed, which was somewhat confusing for the community, but it fulfilled part of the community’s expectations, and although at first glance it looks like the announcement of a new theme song, if we see it from another perspective or rather, with more detail, all the hidden details that we will see this month come to light.
Splatoon 3: Chill Season 2023 update gets a sneak peek in new promo video
With the year about to end, the Splatoon community has enjoyed great events from Nintendo, we come from the Splatoween in October, the Splatfest in November that started today and now and as if to close the year with a flourish, comes Chill Season 2023 that shows a little with the trailer shown, as well as the new music video of the Splatoon music group, Chirpy Chips.
Rejoicing the community, the new Chill Season 2023 in Splatoon 3 will kick off next Friday, December 1, 2023 and you can enjoy it until February 29, 2024. And as I mentioned, most of the content that will arrive with this update is present in the trailer, but we will also describe them below:
New maps
The Chill 2023 season will introduce two new scenarios to Splatoon 3:

Bluefin Depot
This last map, is not a new map as such, as those fans of the franchise will remember having played it in the first Splatoon released for Nintendo Wii U.
New Weapons
At the moment there will be eight new weapon kits/combinations of main, secondary and special weapons coming to the game, accompanied by the arrival of a new special weapon: Splattercolor Screen.
This new special weapon will create a huge wall of moving ink. The opponents who pass through it will be temporarily affected by photochromatic vision, that is, they will see in black and white, so they will not be able to recognize the colors of the ink. These are the most important new features of this new update, to which the following points are added:
- There will be a new Big Run event at Unicentro Carite with a new King Salmonid.
- We will hear a new song by ABXY (Chirpy Chirps) called ‘No Quarters’ during the games.
- New winter-themed equipment.
Those are the new features that jump to the eye in the trailer, surely much more content will arrive to the game on December 1, to finish apart from the above mentioned this week was revealed that there is a new update. When applied, the game will be updated to version 5.2.0, bringing with it a new service called Splatoon 3 Tournament Manager. This can be accessed through SplatNet 3 and thus be able to organize tournaments with Private Battles.
A new mechanic that plans to add more features as time progresses and that surely some players will find very useful, both this new service, as well as everything that will be added.
