Although this is not the only surprise that has been revealed, as it was also announced that the anime will be airing for a period of six months (two seasons).

Spice and Wolf is a series of light novels that, so far, comprises a total of 24 volumes and the previous anime adaptation that was made up of two seasons, each with a total of 12 episodes.
It has not yet been confirmed how much of the material will be covered in the first season of the new anime. However, there is enough content to support this reboot. The plot revolves around traveling merchant Lawrence, who arrives in the town of Pasloe and there encounters a young woman who possesses wolf ears and a wolf tail, and identifies herself as the Wise Wolf Holo. From that encounter, Lawrence and Holo begin a journey together full of adventures.
