In the official media for the anime adaptation of the light novel “Hibike! Euphonium” (Sound! Euphonium) a promotional video for the highly anticipated third season of the series has been unveiled. Additionally, it was confirmed that voice actress Haruka Tomatsu will be in charge of playing the character Mayu Kuroe.
Sound! Euphonium Season 3 builds hype in new trailer
It is important to note that the third season of the anime Sound! Euphonium is scheduled to premiere in Japan in April 2024. In addition, the anime studio Tokyo Animation will be in charge of its production.
As a reminder, the television anime “Sound! Euphonium” announced its third season in June 2022. At that time, it was also confirmed that the series would feature a special that was screened in theaters in Japan last August 4 this year. This special had a movie format and covered the “Ensemble Concert” arc.
“Sound! Euphonium” is a captivating series that follows the story of Kumiko Oumae, a freshman at Kitauji High School. Despite her desire to leave her music-related past behind, she is drawn back into the world of music performance when her new friends, Sapphire Kawashima and Hazuki Katou, convince her to join the school’s band club. The club’s situation is challenging: the band is in no position to participate in the local festival, Sunfest, let alone aim for the national competition.
With the arrival of the band’s new advisor, Noboru Taki, things take a turn. Taki presents the club members with a crucial decision: relax and enjoy themselves or commit to intense practice to reach the national level. Kumiko, determined not to repeat the mistakes of the past, is torn between the options. The plot thickens further when she discovers that her former bandmate, Reina Kousaka, with whom she had a troubled relationship, has joined Kitauji’s gang club.
Amidst the chaos and tensions, the main characters must learn to overcome their internal struggles and work together under Taki’s rigorous guidance. The series explores themes of friendship, rivalry, sacrifice and the pursuit of excellence in the world of music.
