The surprise announcement about the end of the popular romantic comedy manga Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo suru (My Dress-Up Darling) has been making waves in the otaku community. With this news coming out unexpectedly, many people have been starting to draw their conclusions about the decision to end the publication of the work.
The theory that has gained more weight in the last hours is the decision to cancel the work. According to several users, this theory makes sense if we consider the unexpected way in which the news was released, which was presented in chapter 114 of the manga Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru.
Delving deeper into this theory, many have noted that the news was reported in a “cold” way. For a manga that currently has more than 12 million copies in circulation, a not insignificant figure, there was no prior indication that anything relevant would be revealed in the most recent episode of Shinichi Fukuda’s work. Much less was there any hint that the manga would “enter its final stage,” something that is usually announced earlier in stories that enjoy great popularity in Japan.
Perhaps, if the main objective of the story was to make protagonists Gojo Wakana and Marin Kitagawa a couple, this could be interpreted as a sign that the manga was reaching its conclusion. However, if so, many fans were hoping to see more about how the relationship between Gojo and Marin would evolve, so the ending still feels somewhat… forced.
For the moment, it has only been confirmed that Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo Suru will end with the publication of its 115th chapter. Moreover, in the last hours, Shinichi Fukuda, author of the manga, has limited herself to announce the conclusion of the work with the release of said chapter. Unfortunately for fans looking for an explanation, Fukuda has not provided any official statement about the reasons behind the end of his story.
The final episode of Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo suru will be released on March 21, 2025.

Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo suru anime to return in 2025
At the end of December 2024, the official media for the anime adaptation of the manga Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo suru announced that the long-awaited sequel to the series will premiere later this year in 2025. At that time, a visual image for the sequel was presented.
The manga Sono Bisque Doll wa Koi wo suru has the following description: Wakana Gojou, a high school student, spends her days perfecting the art of making hina dolls, hoping to reach her grandfather’s level of mastery. While her teenage peers engage in pop culture, Gojou finds happiness in sewing clothes for her dolls. However, he does his best to keep his hobby a secret, as he believes he would be mocked if he revealed it.
One day, his life takes an unexpected turn when he meets Marin Kitagawa, an extraordinarily beautiful girl whose confidence and poise contrast with Gojou’s meekness. It would defy common sense for Gojou, friendless, to mix with a girl like Kitagawa, who is always surrounded by her peers. However, the unimaginable happens when Kitagawa discovers Gojou’s prowess with the sewing machine and cheerfully confesses to her her own hobby: cosplay. Since her sewing skills are pitiful, she decides to ask him for help.
As Gojou and Kitagawa work together on one cosplay costume after another, they can’t help but grow closer, even though their lives are worlds apart.
