James Marsden is a popular American actor, known for playing Tom in the two Live Action Sonic the Hedgehog movies. In a recent interview, Marsden revealed that the filming of the third installment of the blue hedgehog has already come to an end, which is good news, since this film will be released in theaters in December this year.
Sonic The Hedgehog 3 is getting closer and closer!
Having just finished starring in the movie Knox Goes Away alongside Michael Keaton, James Marsden gave an interview with YouTube channel The Playlist. When the interviewer told him that he and his son enjoyed his performance in the two Sonic the Hedgehog movies, Marsden replied, “We actually just finished (filming). I’m very proud of what we created and with the response from the fans. We had to get the animation right on the first movie, but it’s a great, very positive family,” referring to when Paramount was forced to change Sonic’s hideous design due to fan complaints.
Marsden then recounted, “Jim Carrey is having a lot of fun, he’s in the zone of inspiration. So it’s a pleasure to see him having such a good time, really enjoying it again. It’s great, and I’m very lucky to be a part of it. I think the fans are going to be very excited about all the new characters.” It was recently confirmed that, despite having expressed his desire to retire from acting, Jim Carrey will be returning to play Dr. Eggman in Sonic The Hedgehog 3, much to the delight of fans. And luckily, based on what James Marsden said, it looks like he had a lot of fun in this role again.
Another interesting part of James Marsden’s answer was the mention of new characters. We know that Sonic the Hedgehog 3 will tell the story of Shadow the Hedgehog, which will be really exciting for fans of the character. On the other hand, it is also known that actors Krysten Ritter, Cristo Fernandez and Alyla Browne will be joining the cast, but it is not known who they will be playing. Although fans speculate that this could mean that we will see characters such as Rouge the Bat or Maria. It was also confirmed that all the important actors from the previous installments will reprise their roles, such as Ben Schwartz (Sonic), Colleen O’Shaughnessey (Tails), Idris Elba (Knuckles) and, of course, James Marsden.
This all sounds very exciting and the fact that they have already finished filming the movie is a good sign, because now the studio has more than 9 months to work on the special effects. Sonic the Hedgehog 3 will be released in theaters on December 20th and we can’t wait.
