Snow Miku is the winter festival organized by Crypton Future Media, the multimedia company in charge of the development of the popular Vocaloid Hatsune Miku. This winter event originated in the Hokkaido region during the Sapporo City Snow Festival in 2010, for this event a snow sculpture inspired by Hatsune Miku was designed. Since then every year the Snow Miku festival is held in Hokkaido, using the Snow Miku design as the main character but with some variations for each edition of the event.

Snow Miku is one of the most recognized winter festivals in Japan, and in 2024 they will celebrate their fifteenth anniversary. The main event of Snow Miku 2024 will take place at Wing Bay Otaru Shopping Mall, Hokkaido, on Saturday February 10 and Saturday February 11 next year 2024. The main stage of the event will feature various product booths, some workshops and exhibitions, and, of course, a large display of Miku-inspired snow sculptures. In addition to this, at the Sapporo Snow Festival, which will take place from February 4 to 11, 2024, there will also be a space dedicated to merchandise related to the Hatsune Miku event.
Since 2012, every year a call is opened on the Piapro Official Collab site where illustrators and fans, both national and international, can participate to design Snow Miku in each edition of the festival. The winning design is chosen through an online vote, for this occasion, the vote was held from March 31 to April 11, 2023. For the Snow Miku 2024 edition, illustrator Yutaka was the top vote-getter and design winner. Yutaka has highlighted his talent by being in charge of some illustrations for Pokemon Cards.
In this edition Snow Miku is inspired by the ryokan style and designed in sepia tones, highlighting Miku’s iconic blue hair and the culinary traditions of Hokkaido, so Miku is seen accompanied by her mascot, the Yukine Rabbit as chefs of both classic and contemporary dishes, decorated with various Japanese ingredients.
Snow Miku’s main theme song is by composer Reruliri, who has already written original vocaloid music and collaborated on themes for animated series, TV shows and plays. Although he does not stop exploring genres such as pop, rock, jazz, funk and blues, among others. No doubt this is something that excites fans, although this theme song has not yet been revealed, Reruliri promises not to disappoint.
