The anime adaptation of the romantic comedy manga Skip to Loafer (Skip and Loafer) has published a promotional image for its second season on its official media. Unfortunately, this new update on the Skip to Loafer anime’s official website was not accompanied by a possible premiere date, so fans will have to keep waiting for new information.
Additionally, the official media of the Skip to Loafer anime has introduced the production team that will be involved in the series: Kotomi Deai will return to direct and oversee the anime’s scripts. As in the first season, animation studio P.A. Works will be in charge of production. Yoko Yanaiyama will also return to supervise the scripts along with Kotomi Deai.
Manami Umeshita will resume her role as character designer and chief animation director, supported by Reina Igawa. However, it was not specified whether Takatsugu Wakabayashi will return to compose the anime’s soundtrack.

Skip to Loafer, also known as Skip and Loafer in the West, is a comedy manga written and illustrated by Misaki Takamatsu. The work began serialization in Kodansha publisher Kodansha’s Monthly Afternoon magazine since August 2018. Currently, the work is still in publication and Kodansha Publishing has released a total of 11 compilation volumes.
With the release of its tenth compilation volume, the Skip to Loafer manga announced that it managed to surpass 2.3 million copies in circulation.
The anime adaptation of the Skip to Loafer manga premiered in Japan on April 4, 2023 and consisted of a total of 12 episodes. The anime studio P.A Works was in charge of its production and it was legally broadcast in America through the Crunchyroll platform.
The anime Skip to Loafer has the following description: To pursue her dream of bringing positive change to Japan, Mitsumi Iwakura leaves her rural village to attend a prestigious high school in the hustle and bustle of Tokyo. As she has already mapped out a clear life plan, she is absolutely confident that there will be no setbacks thereafter.
Despite her ambitious promise, the country girl ends up being late on the first day when she gets lost on her way to school. Fortunately, she meets a fellow freshman, Sousuke Shima, who is in the same situation and offers to accompany her. They finally arrive at school, but the misfortunes don’t end there, as Mitsumi makes an unfavorable first impression on her classmates.
However, the class soon takes notice of her friendship with Sousuke despite their opposing personalities. Only time will tell if Mitsumi will be able to forge fruitful relationships with her classmates, and she certainly won’t be alone.
