This news was accompanied with another sad revelation, the manga will go on hiatus due to the health condition of one of its creators.
Shadows House manga nears its end
The good news is that the Shadows House series will return in the 38th issue of Weekly Young Jump magazine, which is scheduled to be published next August 22. This is a positive point, as it indicates that the creator’s health condition is not too serious and that once recovered he will return to give conclusion to this incredible Seinen story that made its way as a good, entertaining and full of mystery series.
Shadows House was serialized on September 6, 2018 by Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump magazine, currently has 17 volumes published. The reception of this manga was so good that by August 2021 was issued its first episode as an anime series produced by the CloverWorks animation studio, counting this first season with a total of 13 episodes and in July 2022 was broadcast its second season, which has 12 episodes which you can find on the Crunchyroll platform.
The anime and manga of Shadows House had an excellent reception thanks to its gothic animation style and its interesting premise, also many fans of the anime and manga of The Promised Neverland (Yakusoku No Neverland) came to Shadows House looking for something with certain similar vibes and both stories are dramatic, psychological and dark.
Shadows House tells the story of a young girl named Emilico who lives in a place called the “House of Shadows”, our peculiar character is not a living being, she is a living doll created in the image and likeness of a human being, in this case, her master. Her only purpose is to serve Kate Shadows who is a descendant of the Shadows Family.
This curious family of supernatural beings is characterized because they all have a completely black body and each member of the Shadows Family has its own living death that curiously does have a completely human appearance. In this story we will see how Emilico and Kate try to get along and at the same time we will witness how Emilico searches for his purpose and the hidden past of the Shadows House.
