Visual novels are one of the most important video game genres for the Japanese, although in the West it is not the same, some companies have decided to give it a chance by bringing these titles to this side of the pond, such as Sekai Project, who in recent days has left to talk about a title in particular.
Sekai Project deletes all traces of the remake of visual novel “Parfait” on its website and alarms fans
Sekai Project is one of the few companies that we can count on our hands, which has been dedicated for many years to the Visual Novel business in the West, bringing titles that many of us know today thanks to their anime productions both normal and for adults or because somehow you became a fan of that genre.
Among the most notable titles that this company has we can appreciate: CLANNAD, NEKOPARA, BALDR, GRISAIA, among many more. Clearly, winning the affection of the fans of such games, but the red lights went on when several users and fans of a specific visual novel noticed something premiere in all their social networks, as well as on their website.
After a relentless search, many users and fans noticed that Sekai Project had removed all the information about the remake of the visual novel “Parfait” in all their social networks and websites without any mention. This caused many theories to be born, starting with that the company had lost the license for its edition and publication in the West, since they announced at the Anime Expo 2022 that this visual novel would be part of their next releases, and it is worth mentioning that this announcement was also removed as everything else previously presented.
The concern of the fans about this visual novel is so great because many already knew the franchise, since it was originally released in 2005 under the same title, besides being part of the same universe of other successful visual novels in Japan such as: Kono Aozora ni Yakusoku o and Chocolat maid cafe curio. But it doesn’t end there, it also shares characters with other productions such as: Otome Crisis and Xross Scramble, all developed by the same company known as GIGA, the same company that brought us BALDR SERIES.
Besides being one of the great successes of the writer Maruto Fumiaki, screenwriter of the great White Album 2, sequel to the successful White Album, which has an anime adaptation that we can enjoy in English, both with subtitles and English dubbing in Anime Onegai.
This gives a lot to think about, since it is rare that video game companies do this kind of things behind the backs of their consumers and fans of visual novels, so it would not be strange that they are preparing something regarding this installment. On the other hand, it would not be unreasonable that another company has obtained the license for its edition and distribution in the West because one of the strong ones would be Shiravune, a company that is also dedicated to the publication and edition of visual novels in the West and that in recent years has been gaining ground, being the competition of Sekai Project.
Undoubtedly these are very strange actions coming from companies of this type of games that are not well known in the West and that in recent years are trying to take ground on this side of the pond, so let’s hope it’s just an update on the website and social networks and we can see this great visual novel come to Steam.
