One of the most recognized franchises in the manga and anime industry, Rent-A-Girlfriend (Kanojo Okarishimasu) recently announced that it will launch its first video game in a very peculiar partnership with the developer MAGES. This company is responsible for the releases of the now Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PC exclusive video game saga of The Quintessenial Quintuplets, being now responsible for making the game of the 5 beautiful waifus of Rent-A-Girlfriend as successful as the one of the 5 Nakano sisters.
MAGES confirms development of a Rent-A-Girlfriend game
With the recent 7th anniversary of the manga and the announcement of a fourth season in 2025, another surprise from the Kanokari franchise was to be expected, which came in the form of a cover by a new official MAGES video game Twitter/X account with the image of: Mami, Mini, Ruka, Sumi and Chizuru sitting on the seashore smiling where the classic “Kanojo Okarishimasu” logo is seen below the title of the game which according to the page will be “Bride on the horizon and swimsuit” and above the image that it will be a Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 exclusive release.
In addition, on their official page they reveal a tentative release date which is August 5, 2024, that is, mid-summer (honoring the title of the video game) but later mentions that the release is scheduled for some point this year. This is why they may surprise us with a release before or after August, the final word is with the developers MAGES so we will have to wait for more news from them as the weeks go by.
After having had enough with the previous titles of “The Quintessenial Quintuplets” videogames, there couldn’t be a better developer than MAGES to make the Rent-A-Girlfriend videogame, because basically the genres of the anime are the same. Although the narrative and character development are different, one of the main ones is “comedy” as well as “romance” and the favorite of many otaku “harem” of several girls sentimentally interested in the same guy and this is where the personalities of the main characters Kazuya and Fuutarou are absolutely different.
This will be the first video game in the Rent-A-Girlfriend franchise and with the huge success of 7 years of manga, 3 seasons of anime and a fourth already announced, it bodes well for the future. Therefore, there could not have been a better candidate as MAGES to develop this game that does have the same features, gameplay and narrative. In addition to the unique personalities that characterize the Kanokari girls, it can be compared to the first game of the Nakano sisters, and we will soon be able to interact and conquer our favorite waifu from Rent-A-Girlfriend.
