This time, the reason was not a publication where he mentioned the character Chizuru Mizuhara through his Twitter/X account, but for another more “personal” reason so to speak.
After a post where he “expressed” his gratitude to all his fans for all these years, today, Reiji Miyajima announced on his official Twitter/X account a post that has excited his followers: Tomorrow an important announcement will be announced!
Rent-a-Girlfriend Author to Release Major Announcement
Without going into too much detail, the author of the manga Rent-a-Girlfriend has prepared a special surprise for his followers and tomorrow he will announce a very important news. As we have said, there is little information about what this announcement will be about and it is not known if the news corresponds to the manga “Kanojo, Okarishimasu” (Rent-a-Girlfriend) or something about the new manga by Reiji Miyajima, titled “Shiunji-ke no Kodomotachi” (The Shiunji Family Children).
However, fans of “Rent-a-Girlfriend” have shown a special interest in this publication, and many believe that such an important announcement would have to do with the beginning of the final stretch of the manga.
This is influenced by a publication by Reiji Miyajima, in which he expressed that, despite receiving sad news, he is grateful to the public for being able to be entertained and enjoy his work regardless of the media in which they read it. These words were accompanied by a special illustration that we will present below.
“Kanojo, Okarishimasu“, known as “Rent-a-Girlfriend” in the West, is a popular romantic comedy manga that is written and illustrated by Reiji Miyajima. The work began its publication in Weekly Shonen Magazine which belongs to Kodansha Publishing House in July 2017.
Currently, the manga has surpassed the impressive figure of 11 million copies in circulation with 34 volumes published by the Kodansha publishing house and due to the excellent reception by the public, in 2020 the production of an anime adaptation for the work was announced. Let’s remember that the compilation volume #35 of the manga is scheduled to be released for sale in Japan on February 16 of this year.
“Rent-a-Girlfriend” narrates the life of Kazuya Kinoshita, a college student who, after suffering a breakup with his girlfriend, plunges into deep emotional desolation. In an attempt to try to remedy his emotional void, he turns to a curious mobile app that allows him to rent a woman and have her act as his girlfriend.
During his exploration of the app, Kazuya meets Chizuru Mizuhara, who projects to be the perfect image of a bride, with striking beauty and undeniable charm. However, after their first meeting, Kazuya is confronted with polarized opinions about Chizuru’s profile. Influenced by wounds from previous relationships, he concludes that she manipulates men’s feelings, thus giving her an unfavorable rating.
Outraged by Kazuya’s lack of consideration, Chizuru unmasks her true personality. However, due to a series of circumstances, Kazuya and Chizuru are compelled to simulate a romantic relationship, acting as if they are genuinely in love.
As the plot progresses, both protagonists face various obstacles and comical situations as they struggle to maintain the charade. At the same time, they discover more about themselves and their true feelings.
