Call of Duty: Warzone is the popular Battle Royale of Activision Blizzard‘s iconic franchise, with hundreds of millions of active players every hour. As previously announced, Activision Blizzard launched Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile for cell phones yesterday. Although both versions are quite similar, iPhone users will have a considerable graphical advantage, as Apple’s powerful hardware allows Warzone Mobile to look even better. This is what caught the attention of fans the most: this game has a surprisingly good graphics for a mobile title, and its graphics are pretty close to those of its console versions.
Luckily, Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile’s minimum technical requirements are not that demanding, since you’ll need an iPhone that supports iOS 16 with 3 GB of memory, or an Android with an Adreno 618 GPU (or better) and at least 4 GB of memory. Most modern smartphones will be able to run Warzone Mobile, though of course, if you have a particularly powerful device for playing video games like this, you’re going to have an even better time. Luckily, Activision Blizzard confirmed that there is crossplay between iOS and Android, although they preferred not to include crossplay with PlayStation, Xbox and PC to maintain a better balance between mobile gamers and console gamers.
In case you weren’t aware, Call of Duty: Warzone is an exciting FPS in Battle Royale mode, in which up to 120 real players will have to fight on an enormous map until only one player is left. During the game, you’ll not only have to eliminate other players, but you’ll also have to find powerful weapons to later equip yourself to continue fighting. Warzone Mobile brings the classic gameplay of this popular title to mobile devices, which means you’ll be able to access the game wherever you want, and combat is even a bit more dynamic than in the console version.
According to players, the touchscreen controls feel pretty good, although it’s never a bad idea to invest in a specialized controller. But of course, Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile has its fair share of detractors: many people claim that there are a lot of issues with framerate and matchmaking, they are not happy with the monetization of this type of mobile titles and it was even reported that some high-powered smartphones, such as the iPhone 12 Max, have overheated from running this game.
However, managing to make a relatively smooth transition from consoles to mobile is no easy task and Call of Duty: Warzone is doing quite well so far.
