In Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai, Puberty Syndrome is considered a rare and inexplicable phenomenon, and many people see it as a myth. This strange disease seems to affect only teenagers, and its symptoms are so supernatural that they are often dismissed as something unreal.
However, Sakuta Azusagawa, a high school student, has personal experience with this syndrome, as it is something common in his school. Mai Sakurajima is a third-year student who in her childhood was a very famous child actress, but for unknown reasons decided to leave her promising career. Although she is a well-known figure throughout the school, no one seems to want to approach her.
That is until Sakuta sees her disguised as a bunny in the library, and decides to confront her. He discovers that Mai is also a victim of Puberty Syndrome.
As Sakuta helps Mai overcome her situation, he finds himself relating to more girls who are also affected by this strange disease. It seems that they could be in danger, and Sakuta is determined to help them in any way possible.
