As already announced a few months ago, Ranma 1/2 would be receiving a remake of the original story with a new type of animation closer to the present day, which had fans very excited to live again this story, however, it can make a problem. In the last hours, it was revealed that the Netflix platform suffered a hack in its database, leaking a lot of information, including the titles that have not yet been officially presented.
Leaked Ranma 1/2 episodes could affect the future of the anime
Unfortunately, Ranma 1/2 was affected among them, since in the last hours the opening of the series was leaked, which in itself is already something serious that this kind of things are leaked before the official accounts publish it, but as if that were not enough something more serious happened. And it turns out that a good amount of episodes of this new remake of Ranma 1/2 were leaked, which left quite surprised fans around the world who can not believe that the hacking has been so serious as to reach these instances.
And this whole matter is very serious, as it may even lead to the cancellation of the premiere of Ranma 1/2 because of this vulnerability suffered by Netflix, and although it seems that the episodes that were leaked were few for all that they are willing to cover, we must not forget that the studios take these matters seriously. So far, MAPPA has not made a statement on what has happened with the leak of most of the episodes and the opening of Ranma 1/2, so we will have to wait and see what actions they take against Netflix or the leakers themselves and if they will cancel the transmission of this remake. For its part, Netflix has not yet commented on what happened on its platform, which has created a distrust in its service and whether this can happen again in the future.
We must also remember that Ranma 1/2 was not the only one affected by this leak, since titles such as Terminator Zero, Dandadan, Mononoke the Movie: Phantom in the Rain and its most anticipated title Arcane have also been leaked on social networks, so we can see that the affectation to the platform was more serious than imagined. We will have to wait to see what actions Netflix will take to prevent this from happening again and see if in the following hours they will make a statement.
Finally, these leaks that took place in the last few days could mean that most or all of these projects will be concluded due to the massive leak of episodes they had due to the hacking, and even that they will postpone even more their release dates.
