The year 2024 is coming to an end, and with it, the Japanese portal AnimeAnime! organized a vote among its users to determine which were the best anime of the year. After a long wait since the start of the voting, the site has finally revealed the results, reflecting the opinion of its users on the best anime of this 2024.
These are the best anime of 2024 according to Japan (AnimeAnime!)
1. Ranma 1/2 (2024)

The recent remake of the iconic anime Ranma 1/2, based on the celebrated manga by Rumiko Takahashi, has managed to capture the attention of both new viewers and nostalgic fans of the original 80s/90s version. Although it has inevitably been the subject of comparisons with the adaptation released in 1989, this new version of Ranma 1/2 has stood out for its greater fidelity to the manga.
Also, the new version has highlighted more of the key moments between Ranma and Akane, something that fans have appreciated. By being more direct with the original story, it has made both new and old viewers enjoy this remake, giving it numerous positive ratings.
A second season for the new Ranma 1/2 anime was announced and new updates will be released soon.

2. The Demon Prince of Momochi House

The anime adaptation of Aya Shouto’s shoujo manga, Momochi-san Chi no Ayakashi Ouji (The Demon Prince of Momochi House), has established itself as one of the favorite series among the users of the Japanese portal AnimeAnime!
In particular, the main character Himari Momochi has received numerous accolades, either for her design or her personality. In addition, the work in the production of the series has fascinated both fans of the original manga and new audiences, who have been delighted with this animated version of Aya Shouto’s manga.

3. My Hero Academia Season 7

The long-awaited seventh season of the shonen anime based on Kouhei Horikoshi’s manga, My Hero Academia (Boku no Hero Academia), managed to thrill fans of the franchise by presenting several key moments of the original manga’s story.
From the intense battle action scenes, to the revelation of Toru Hagakure’s design as he was shown without his quirk, to the memorable encounter between Ochako Uraraka and Himiko Toga, this season was full of emotions. So much was its impact that it managed to trend on social networks multiple times.
The final season of My Hero Academia has already been confirmed and will premiere during the fall season of 2025.

4. Makeine: Too Many Losing Heroines!

The anime Makeine: Too Many Losing Heroines! has the following description: Despite not understanding much about fleeting teenage romances, Kazuhiko Nukumizu, a high school freshman, keeps wondering how he would react if his life turned into a love story. Regardless, as a self-proclaimed “background character,” Nukumizu is content to continue his life as an introvert with a negligible social life.
However, he suddenly finds himself too close to the spotlight when he witnesses his popular classmate Anna Yanami being rejected by her childhood friend in the middle of a family restaurant. Although Nukumizu wishes he could forget what he has seen and move on, Anna ends up forcibly confiding in Nukumizu, regretting her status as a childhood friend doomed to be robbed of her beloved.
Being drawn into Anna’s situation, Nukumizu soon becomes embroiled in the sentimental drama of two other girls: Lemon Yakishio, an extroverted member of the athletic club, and Chika Komari, a shy member of the literature club. Nukumizu steps out of her comfort zone and becomes an important character in the lives of too many loser heroines.

5. Blue Lock Season 2

When the young striker returns home, an invitation from the Japanese Football Union awaits him. The ultimate goal of the project is to make one of the selected players the star striker of the Japanese national team. To find the best participant, each diamond in the rough must compete against others through a series of individual and team competitions to reach the top. Putting aside his ethical objections to the project, Isagi feels compelled to claw his way to the top, even if it means ruthlessly crushing the dreams of 299 young aspiring strikers.

The anime Sound! Euphonium has the following description: Now that Kumiko Oumae has enrolled in Kitauji High School, she hopes to forget her past. As it stands, the band will not be able to participate in the local festival, Sunfest, let alone compete at the national level. Kumiko, who doesn’t want to repeat her high school mistakes, has second thoughts about whether they should try to qualify for nationals.
Amidst the chaos, she learns that her former bandmate, Reina Kousaka (with whom she had a bitter relationship) has joined Kitauji’s band club. Under the pressure of Noboru’s strict training, Kumiko and her bandmates must learn to overcome their struggles and find success together.

Tarou Yamada, a high school freshman, is one of them. After giving up on competing, he enrolls at Kotesashi High School – an ordinary public high school with no baseball team – where he discovers that his new classmates are the legendary pair that once crushed his dreams. To make matters worse, he learns that amnesia has turned the once level-headed General into a common class clown. Having lost all interest in baseball, Kaname drags a disappointed Kiyomine to Kotesashi simply because the school is close to where they live.
As Kotesashi forms a fledgling baseball club, Yamada meets other players he once admired who have also left baseball behind. Although they are now reluctant, Yamada believes that if he can convince these talented athletes to play again, it may be possible to achieve their dreams and win the national championship, as long as they can withstand Kaname’s incessant teasing.

As they spend more time together, the boy can’t help but feel not only a sense of affection for the very girl he wishes to murder, but also a desire to protect her at all costs.
Is it possible that this sudden change in Ichikawa’s perspective will lead to something else?

10. Wind Breaker

Instead of the usual rejection, they fight alongside her, proving that what the school really cares about is protecting the city of Makochi from harm – hence the students call themselves “Bofurin.” Surprised by the support and appreciation of the townspeople, Sakura finds it hard to accept their goodwill.
Although unfamiliar with the kindness they show her, Sakura must learn to overcome her discomfort when Bofurin faces formidable enemies. After experiencing the feeling of acceptance, she finds herself fighting for the good of others for the first time.
