Ranma 1/2

Ranma 1/2 and its sinister theory about the female version of the character.

The play Ranma 1/2 is one of the best known around the world, being that its premiere more than four decades ago made it reach a large number of people, and with the release of the remake it is expected that even more fans will join. This story of a young man who changes gender when he comes into contact with water is more than interesting and although many know that this is due to a curse, now a theory has surfaced that gives a much darker origin to the female version of the protagonist that not many people know.

The gender change in Ranma 1/2 and a very dark theory.

Ranma 1/2 Y Su Siniestra Teoría Sobre La Versión Femenina Del Personaje

As many know, the popular Ranma 1/2 tells the story of a young man who, due to a curse, changes gender every time he comes into contact with water, either with the cold water that turns him into a woman or with the hot water that returns him to his original gender. And although many know that this curse is given after falling into the enchanted pond Jusenkyo, a theory has taken a lot of strength within the community of the work, who believe that really this curse of gender change hides a much darker secret.

And this would be that Ranma does not really change gender, but what he does is to copy the image of a young girl who had drowned in those same ponds many years ago, something that is known, since this same place is also known as the “Pond of the drowned girl”, even in the Spanish version is called “Pond of the drowned red-haired woman”. Thanks to this information, the theory that there really is no female version of the main character of Ranma 1/2 has gained a lot of strength.

Fans who believe that this is really real, see the work as much more sinister after this and that what we are really seeing in every scene of Ranma 1/2 where the protagonist becomes a woman, is actually the manifestation of the young woman who drowned in that same pond. Although this theory was never confirmed, many take it as the strongest to explain the gender change, thus suggesting that there are two different entities “coexisting” within the protagonist, giving one of the darkest theories of Ranma 1/2.

In turn, this theory resounded again, since a few hours ago the long-awaited remake of the anime was finally released, with a level of animation according to this era, and although it already had some controversy, such as with the censorship of the first episode, many fans are happy with this new version. Finally, although the theory of the female version of Ranma being the same girl who drowned in the Jusenkyo pond may never be confirmed, it is a rather curious thought on the part of some fans of the work.
