God of War: Ragnarok was a great game for many reasons. One of them was the amazing artistic work done by Rafael Grassetti, who has recently announced that he has left Santa Monica Studio, one of Sony’s the most important developers, after working 10 years with them; his last work was none other than the art director of God of War: Ragnarok, a video game praised by critics since its launch.
Rafel Grassetti, key for the artistic excellence of the God of War saga
Rafael Grassetti’s work with developer Santa Monica Studio began in November 2023, focusing his work on the characters, being the lead artist. He was also the lead artist on the 2018 God of War, the twist of the Kratos saga.
In God of War: Ragnarok he moved on to work as an art director, and, finally, he became the main art director of the developer from November 2022. Without a doubt, it was a work in constant ascent within the same one.
Rafael Grassetti also communicated on Twitter, expressing how he felt with Sony :
