Crunchyroll

With PS Plus you can now enjoy several Crunchyroll animes

Anime fans are celebrating this time, as Playstation added to its PS Plus Deluxe service the opportunity for them to enjoy Crunchyroll content, all thanks to Sony who will bring this fabulous benefit to PS4 and PS5 users who have the PlayStation subscription, which will undoubtedly attract more people to discover new series to a new audience.

Crunchyrol joins PS Plus

Crunchyroll

This pleasant surprise was announced through the PlayStation blog, in which they mentioned that they will be bringing some series from the Crunchyroll service to the Sony Pictures Core application, which is a catalog of dedicated content from the Sony production company, which the public can enjoy thanks to the Playstation Plus subscription. But it is not all good news, since this offer will only be available for the Mexican public for the time being, but we will have to wait for it to be implemented in more countries around the world.

Of the titles that were announced that will be available in this free selection for PS Plus Deluxe users will be Eighty Six, Iruma-kun and To Your Eternity, among others. So if you want to purchase this Playstation subscription you have to keep in mind that it will be limited in titles, so there will not be the anime that are currently premiering in the season.

Crunchyroll/Ps Plus

One would expect that this subscription would bring the benefit of being able to access the entire Crunchyroll catalog, as it was some time ago with Xbox that allowed you to get access to Crunchyroll at no cost, but it seems that Playstation, or at least Sony, chose to limit the titles that PS Plus Deluxe users will be able to access with this subscription.

Users have reacted differently to this surprise, from those who have long expected something like this to happen due to Sony’s acquisition of Crunchyroll and are happy with what was shown, to those who were disappointed by the small catalog that they are allowing Crunchyroll to bring to PlayStation users and not making a better decision on how to provide these benefits in a better way.

To You Eternity

The goal one might expect from Sony by giving this “advantage” is that users who use Sony Pictures Core and who are not familiar with anime or have not seen some titles, can know what Crunchyroll is providing to its users, in order to attract more new audiences to the platform and decide to purchase the subscription, but leaving aside all this, it is a new opportunity for more people to know this magnificent world of anime that is still unknown.
